Thats a great deal 100. I am getting one for free, I am putting a UHF/VHF antenna up. I stopped and talked with a man who has a 60 footer in his yard, he told me to ask about his neighbors across the street that hasn't been used in 9 yrs. so I did and got it for free I just have to take it down myself. Any suggestions I should look out for while taking it down?
@larrymota i would say have as many strong people to help you as possible, bring lots of rope, wear gloves, get PB blaster in case fittings are stubbornly seized up, make or buy a tower climbing harness, bring socket wrenches, and a mallet
@kb3mzw Awesome advice my son and I are able to lift it into place no problem I am going to be erecting and installing my antenna next sat. check out my channel and sub to let me know what you think. Have a great day.
Good looking tower, I hope you got it up OK,I turned a 6 element 6 meter beam with one of those rotators for three years till a hurricane stripped the gears.
thanks, yep its up and has been almost for a year now. 10 meters and 2 on it so far. see my video of me hoisting it up with a hand winch on my channel for details of the lifting process.
thank you, I have been working on preparing it just about every evening now. sorry to hear about having to loose the 60 foot tower. one of those would soar into the sky. 73
Thanks. Yes I am about to dig the holes for the concrete and threaded dowels as the base foundation for the hinge plate. I will try to get some video of the raising event, if not I will have footage of it completed and a view from on top.
