I would like the police to do what is says on their squad car, "To Serve And Protect." Instead they fill their quotas by writing me speeding tickets for going 10 over, give me a stop sign ticket because I didn't stop long enough at the sign, illegally search my car hoping I have drugs on me, stop me on the sidewalk under suspicion because I'm running too fast. There's no point in making suggestions as to how they can improve. Law is law, their job is to enforce the law. Since the grand majority of the law is completely fucked, the police end up doing the fucking. The best I could do is work in IAD so I can at least hold officers accountable that break the law, like the ones that have illegally fucked me over.

I said "stop long enough at the sign." They gave me a ticket because they thought I didn't completely stop, which I did. Should I wait at a stop sign for 20 minutes or something? And 10 over the limit? Everyone fucking drives that speed, they just pick out random people to fill their quotas. Driving slower will save me a ticket, but cost me a lot more when someone rear ends me.

Exhausted after 12 hours of driving, I thought I completely pulled off the road but I didn't. I apologized, moved my car and that was that. I then asked him if he knew how to get to this hotel I was looking for. He gave me directions that got me to my destination. At that time the officer did exactly as he should, he protected the public by telling me my vehicle was obstructing the sidewalk and very close to traffic and he served by helping me find my hotel.
As for the cops that fill their quotas by picking random cars all driving the same speed, interrupt my exercise because no one else is running in the street or go fishing hoping I have something illegal in my car, how can you possibly defend them? There's good cops and bad cops, stop defending the actions of bad cops.

The instructors at the CHP academy can flat out DRIVE. I was lucky enough to ride along in one of the cars on the track was I about 8 years old. It was scary and cool at the same time. I almost lost my lunch when we went around in reverse...

One needs to figure out where CHP funding comes from before talking about tax dollars. The vast majority of CHP funding comes from the Department of Motor Vehicles. The money for tickets they issue goes to the county where the ticket was written, not the CHP.
You are very correct. I think the CHP gets about 11 or 12 percent out of over 5 billion dollars that DMV collects. There is a pie chart of where all the DMV fees goes to at the DMV offices. I must say, CHP has a very very healthy budget. I know, I use to work for them in their purchasing unit.

What about impaired drivers? They are the best in the State at arresting DUI drivers. Also, I bet you didn't know that the CHP recovers more stolen cars than any other Police agency in Calfornia. They also take more drugs off the street than LAPD and San Francisco PD combined. Much more then writing tickets. Tickets are a big part of Traffic Enforcement, but the CHP does much more than that. They also hava a dignitary protection division that is responsible for protecting the Govorner.
I spent a few days on the old evoc track on meadowview road with Sgt. Bob Phillips in the early 70's He to me was the father of evoc and this video is a result of what he started in the late 50's as well as the comprehensive testing of the the manufactures contrbutions to law enforcement vehicles instead of relying on low bid.
I must say with very few exceptions the dodge polara, later monaco with the 440 cu. inch engine was the victor, especially the 69 model polara.

I said "stop long enough at the sign." They gave me a ticket because they thought I didn't completely stop, which I did. Should I wait at a stop sign for 20 minutes or something? And 10 over the limit? Everyone fucking drives that speed, they just pick out random people to fill their quotas. Driving slower will save me a ticket, but cost me a lot more when someone rear ends me.

Let me get the tissue out so I can wipe the tears off your face. OK - now that they're gone, you just keep up with this anti-authority attitude and see where it gets you. My suggestion is to make a serious lifestyle/behavior change in the opposite direction and see where it gets you. You might be surprised. I'm no angel, I've made mistakes and I used to hate to police. I CHANGED my life and now understand their purpose.

Example, several years ago I was in Atlanta on New Years Eve trying to find my hotel. I pull off a road to look at a map and a minute later I hear a knock on my window.
The officer asks, "is something wrong?"
"No officer."

"A parking lot?"
"You're car is parked over the sidewalk."..........

Exhausted after 12 hours of driving, I thought I completely pulled off the road but I didn't. I apologized, moved my car and that was that. I then asked him if he knew how to get to this hotel I was looking for. He gave me directions that got me to my destination. At that time the officer did exactly as he should, he protected the public by telling me my vehicle was obstructing the sidewalk and very close to traffic and he served by helping me find my hotel.

When I practice parkour I run point to point for a couple thousand meters to see how fast I can go. It's perfectly legal, yet they stop me because I'm the only person sprinting in the street, so I must have committed a crime, right? What about when they illegally search my car? What's your response to that? How the fuck do I keep an asshole cop from saying he saw a bag of weed in my car, only to hand cuff me, search my car for 30 minutes and let me go after he found nothing?

My respect and admiration for the CHP is very high after watching my brother go through the academy. I have never been more proud of him and amazed at the kinds of obstacles he has overcome.
I praise all members of the CHP for their hard work and dedication. Every time I see a cruizer on the road I smile.

The instructors at the CHP academy can flat out DRIVE. I was lucky enough to ride along in one of the cars on the track was I about 8 years old. It was scary and cool at the same time. I almost lost my lunch when we went around in reverse...

I think it's great how people complain about the CHP. Until any of you witness a major injury accident, with the person close to dying because of excess bleeding and total body injury. Those are the things we try to prevent.

You know, your tax dollars arent going to be given back to you so stop complaining, at least it goes towards public relations. By the way, police officers to pay taxes themselves, so for those of you who say you pay these officers' salaries, if thats true, i think its time they deserve a raise! If you ever see this happening in private, its not so the CHP can have fun, every department does this to teach their officers to get out of skids and what not. Please feel free to correct me.

One needs to figure out where CHP funding comes from before talking about tax dollars. The vast majority of CHP funding comes from the Department of Motor Vehicles. The money for tickets they issue goes to the county where the ticket was written, not the CHP.

You are very correct. I think the CHP gets about 11 or 12 percent out of over 5 billion dollars that DMV collects. There is a pie chart of where all the DMV fees goes to at the DMV offices. I must say, CHP has a very very healthy budget. I know, I use to work for them in their purchasing unit.

What about impaired drivers? They are the best in the State at arresting DUI drivers. Also, I bet you didn't know that the CHP recovers more stolen cars than any other Police agency in Calfornia. They also take more drugs off the street than LAPD and San Francisco PD combined. Much more then writing tickets. Tickets are a big part of Traffic Enforcement, but the CHP does much more than that. They also hava a dignitary protection division that is responsible for protecting the Govorner.

I spent a few days on the old evoc track on meadowview road with Sgt. Bob Phillips in the early 70's He to me was the father of evoc and this video is a result of what he started in the late 50's as well as the comprehensive testing of the the manufactures contrbutions to law enforcement vehicles instead of relying on low bid.
I must say with very few exceptions the dodge polara, later monaco with the 440 cu. inch engine was the victor, especially the 69 model polara.
