Chomsky's a disinfo agent. He knows who/what did 911, but he's not saying. There's a quote of him saying: "Who cares who did 911, it makes no difference", or something like that.
We can't do anything about corrupt government actions in the past, but if we keep up with what's going on in the present, then we can try to prevent corruption in the future. Getting consumed in conspiracy theories just serves as yet another distraction, inhibiting that goal.
Ask yourself one simple question; is it possible that, just maybe, Chomsky being a professional of the academic world and higly regarded as such, would not want to give people the impression that he's a conspiracy nut? 3swoosh. You forgot the add in that Chomsky also said that anyone who knows anything about sciences would instantly discredit the conspiracy theorist's claims. I would say that is very true.

take for example the gulf of tonkin resolution, the whole north vietnamese u-boats attacking u.s. navy vessels was a fabrication. once kennedy began to deploy troops to vietnam, it made no difference of whether or not the tonkin attacks were real or not, but what was going to happen to vietnam.

I would just like to ask why everytime the U.S. involves itself in a conflict it is always the victim. The U.S. is always reacting to a wound dealt by the "bad" guys. Think about it..I guess the public won't just go for a war if they knew it was for monetary reasons. What do you expect from a country that feeds from conflict and suffering? If i was a detective investigating a crime, i think the U.S. has all the motivation on faking an attack on itself and blaming an enemy they deem as a threat.
