@autocon2002 ok, its a sci fi movie, spaceship noises are kind of easy to make. all you need is a tape recorder and some imagination, and you can create just about every sciency sound you could every dream of and then some. And the odds of one sounded like another are better than you might think.

@steffen19k Actually, technically, the movie is a fantasy set in space, not a sci-fi. Sci-fi movies and books are, in one way or another, a warning or a projection of technology in the future, and how effects people's lives. As a general rule of thumb, in sci-fi, it will make an attempt to explain the technology they're using, a fantasy will not. In this movie, they're pretty much just substituting some unexplained technology in place of some unexplained magic.Hust so you know. :P

@msm2you The term "Crazy Ivan" didn't originate with this film. It's a submarine term. It describes a maneuver that Russian submarine captains performed to make sure enemy submarines weren't following them in their blind spot (directly behind them).

Anyone notice Dag's ship having the exact same engine noise as the Millenium Falcon? There's even one part where it flies by and you hear a laser blast from one of the Falcon's quadlasers. They straight-ripped the audio from Star Wars for this!
