  • Which one is the monkey ?

  • @shotmeindaface heard it, kuksugendeape beat you to it this year

  • tutorial?!

  • Soooo... which one was the monkey?

  • @kuksugendeape heard it. AvAThinkClear is funnier

  • Good modelling. But the black hair needs some correction, it looks greasy.

  • @zurechtweiser yes, better comedy

  • this would be great for gary's mod :)

  • Aight everyone...here it comes; the first step in doing some home mocap....The Porcupine!

  • :)

  • do you want to uploading the tutorial before 2012 ?? :)

  • ok:)

    we will wait the tutorial

  • and can we use 3d max instead maya ??

  • @kakarot2055 *in a Vegeta voice* Well, Kakarot. The way you process the visual data is the first part. The second, it the way you use the data. Max or Maya, there is an inbetween step, that I do, always in Motion Builder.

  • @cgIRISMedia lame.

  • We Can use any Program Right ?? like autodesk matchmover

  • @kakarot2055, I've never used matchmover before so I couldn't say definately yes

  • Very nice work. Looking forward for the tutorial. Did you use 2 cameras in different angles? If so, how did you sync them together? Thanks!

  • @pamacado Yeah, exactly. Two cameras in different angles. The software syncs them if you give it a good visual cue.

  • tutorial Plz ???

  • @kakarot2055 It's on the way...work gets in the way of everything

  • Tutorial! Please!

  • @DreamCastrsDuel It's in the works....

  • That is awesome work man

  • this is fuggin dope man i wish to learn this stuff

  • the monkey is more beautiful ...

  • haha funny monkey

  • how did you do all this?

  • @marneebox there is some software out called Syntheyes. you can do all kinds of crazy with it. I suggest it highly

  • @cgIRISMedia how do you even start though? do you like build a model of a character and then like mo cap it or something.....this confuses me but im highly interested in this stuff. plz, help me understand the steps of how to do the whole motion capture process?

  • @marneebox If you're replicating someone's face, you'd probably obtain a scan of their face first. In this case, it didn't matter; the cgi gorilla face and the capture can be done independently. I'm be posting a tutorial, hopefully this holiday break. I'll run through the whole process of the capture and application to a face model.

  • wich program is that?

  • could you make a tutorial please?

  • @CJandMP You bet, working on one now

  • LOL, You look like Randy from My name is earl XP

  • @RETROGAMER43 I'll trim your toe nails in your sleep

  • Ignore the haters, awesome work man.

  • Nice

  • is the ape on the right or on the left side?

  • @Kalle72 thats been said like five times you aren't funny...

  • @rockingheadbangers Monkey see, monkey do!

  • Hola me podrias decir que llevan esas pegatinas para sigan las lecturas faciales de tu cara al irreal?

  • from where i can download syntheyes ?

  • what camera and software did you use?

  • Are they differend?

  • Wat .

  • He says: "Heeeeeeey there, you like that, don't you?"

  • which one's the animation

  • Great job dude! Have you animated that via morpher, or?

  • which one is the monkey again?

  • which one is the monkey?

  • hahaha.. you wish!! Actually we would ALL wish!! :p

  • how did you get it to work correctly? When i try when i move my mouth it just rotates the head, like all the trackers are tied together

  • @xcloudx01 hmm...I'm not sure I understand. Is this in Syntheyes or in the 3D software?

  • @Pentewynn I have trouble remember which one is me

  • @cgIRISMedia aha you're great!

  • @kikomanbossgmailcom Hmmm...after you track you'll have to sync the two cameras togther? If I remember correctly

  • quit monkeying around Dano

  • @dumbhotguy HA! who's this?!

  • so do you have to manually assign each point to the nulls/joints in the model?

it may seem like a stupid question, but is there an automated way to do it?

Also what would you use for head rotation and tilting?

  • @xpez I would use Motion Builder, else you can use the individual points to drive a skeletal face, but then you're kinda stuck with the absolute coordinates. if you were going to automate this, you'd have to write some python or mel that would define a neutral position and then measure the offsets from the neutral position to drive your morph target/blend shapes (possibly the face bones if realtime).

Markers on places where the face doesn't move much (upper forehead) for tilting/rotate

  • where can i get the gorila head from please

  • hi there can you pot your mail to make me connect withe you a bout tutorial or any think about it

  • The monkey was the one on the left right?

  • @HaloEditor ha, yeah, mocap monkey!

  • who is the monkey and who is the human

  • ive been trying to do something similar with boujou and 3ds max but theres no tutorials out there on how to do it could you possibly show us all a little tutorial on how to do this ps youre work is amazing

  • hi there i think this is really good i just dont understand how you made the gorilas head though was it in 3ds max and how did you link it to the footage from syntheyes

  • Please Tutorial, I would love to learn this effect. Please help

  • Hmmm you know what, I'd adjust the hair of your 3d model oh and the beard,,, uh no.. the model is on the right ( kiddin amazing one :P )

  • As I understand it, you need two cameras to capture facial mocap, or so it says on their website. Its good to see the end result, but I would prefer to see how you went about creating it.

  • WHAT PROGRAM U USE

  • LMAO xD

  • massa mano

  • what kind of program is this and where do you get it

  • @jafludas Syntheyes is a matchmoving program that tracks the 2D coordinates of a shot and solves it, figuring out the 3D positions of the points. This is an example of someone using the solver for another purpose, which is obviously motion capture.

  • @jafludas and you can buy it from ssontech [dot] com or just google syntheyes.

  • this is awesomeee. did you use multiple cameras?

  • @ItsRyanStudios yes 2

  • dude please any tutorial for that?

  • Yes, it works with full body. I just don't like posting myself in tights! haha

  • wow, this is great.

Im going to try this. Will the same technique work with Movement say with Arms and Legs?

Would be great for my game if it would.
