  • this is a great... great movie

  • the first bit of the movie was just talking !

  • movies from back then, are just amazing. I can't explain it... they have more vibes I guess.

  • @Cranfordtart. Is your real name Susan Hill by any chance?

  • I adore this movie. Saw it 11years ago when I was 7 (I had a huge thing for horror movies and still do!)

I'm being incredibly lazy at the moment; I have this on DVD and I can't be bothered to move, so I take my hat off to you good sir for uploading this masterpiece! I adore this film!

Can't wait for Radcliffe's take on this!!

  • @TremorLady666 have you seen that new one damn talk about suspence, adrenaline, jumping horror!! :D

  • Thanks for uploading this movie! In response to the question I´ve seen below, I think the movie is set in the year 1925 or 1926 because at the very beginning the clerks at the lawyer´s firm comment on Charlie Chaplin´s movie "The Gold Rush", which came out in 1925.

  • Well if your looking for blood and gore you won't like it. But I think its a great film....hopefully Hollywood won't overdo it with special effects and gore. That would ruin it. And yes it's tame by today's standards. But in my opinion when you add all that blood and gore (which ghosts would never do) it makes it unbelievable and not scary either.

  • @TenzingTheSiberian There's more to horror films than blood (and in the case of most horror films today sex) There's the suspense and story. 70's and 80's films are the best. Their effects are the most real looking, whereas with films like the updated Nightmare on Elm Street, they have CGI which just dulls the film down.

  • @OutlawRebel117 I agree with you completely. I've always loved this film. I'm going to see the new one, I just hope they don't overdo it. When they remade The Haunting they over did the special effects and it wasn't as good as the original.

  • what years this set in?

  • @BrotherOfBullets It was filmed and released in 1989. The actual movie is set in the early 1900's. No later than 1915 I'd say based on the dress and the automobiles.

  • Mello =0

  • This and The Changeling starring George C. Scott are the scariest movies ever made.

  • this scared me for months when i was a kid, in fact, I dont think i've ever been the same

  • @steveehardcore really? im 14. is it okay for me to watch?

  • @TheDellanator Yeah, fine, pretty tame by today's standards

  • @steveehardcore I watched it and no offence to anyone but it was shit. Not scary at all

  • lol my english teacher told me to watch this XD
