This is a lame ,pedantic film - with as much apprehension and terror as a wet tea towel,By the way the old bag reappears in part ten at 5.21,standing in the middle of a lake. She causes a branch to collapse and it kills the protagonist, his wife and child.LOL I hope that I did not spoil the film for you.
I adore this movie. Saw it 11years ago when I was 7 (I had a huge thing for horror movies and still do!)
I'm being incredibly lazy at the moment; I have this on DVD and I can't be bothered to move, so I take my hat off to you good sir for uploading this masterpiece! I adore this film!
Thanks for uploading this movie! In response to the question I´ve seen below, I think the movie is set in the year 1925 or 1926 because at the very beginning the clerks at the lawyer´s firm comment on Charlie Chaplin´s movie "The Gold Rush", which came out in 1925.
Well if your looking for blood and gore you won't like it. But I think its a great film....hopefully Hollywood won't overdo it with special effects and gore. That would ruin it. And yes it's tame by today's standards. But in my opinion when you add all that blood and gore (which ghosts would never do) it makes it unbelievable and not scary either.
@TenzingTheSiberian There's more to horror films than blood (and in the case of most horror films today sex) There's the suspense and story. 70's and 80's films are the best. Their effects are the most real looking, whereas with films like the updated Nightmare on Elm Street, they have CGI which just dulls the film down.
@OutlawRebel117 I agree with you completely. I've always loved this film. I'm going to see the new one, I just hope they don't overdo it. When they remade The Haunting they over did the special effects and it wasn't as good as the original.
@BrotherOfBullets It was filmed and released in 1989. The actual movie is set in the early 1900's. No later than 1915 I'd say based on the dress and the automobiles.
this is a great... great movie
