I know Joseph personally. He is gay, and he's been 'out' for about year now. His parents supported him fully, as they do with his singing. They're a very close family.

I don't see why people have a problem with sexuality in this day and age. All that matters is what a person is like inside - and I can tell you, Joe's a very good guy.

What I was "on about" was that Jo is not from Newcastle so is not technically a Geordie. As he is from South Shields, he is a Sanddancer. Just like Mackems are from Sunderland, Geordies from Newcastle, Sanddancer is the term given to those from Shields, most likely due to the awesome beach they have there.

My problem was with Cheryl not seeming to realise that South Shields is not part of Newcastle.

Joseph is going to give Danyl a big run for his money and I would not be at all surprised that as the Competition goes on Week to Week that Joseph will become the favorite to win it all. Danyl at 28 has 10 years on Joseph at 18 and Joseph's talent has many more years of development..Remember Record Companies will gamble more on a talent when they have more time to develop it.
