I met Andy (30 year dispatch and tech veteran since during the days of Capital cablevision in jackson ms) i learned much from him. THIS KID DOESN'T need to be messing with accessing these codes.he or she doesn't realize how easy it is to brick it's bios from posting or boot during the hddvr's reboot or boot up. I'm hoping the child's parent tore his/her ass up for even putting this video on the web.
This is a Scientific Atlanta 8300 DVR. The codes displayed are diagnostic codes. The D2i means the box is communicating with the cable company, and is in two way mode. The P 00 is the number of PPV purchases you've made. You are not able to clear this count, so don't try it. This is actually using antiquated application on the box. There is new applications that do not show this information. You are also able to reformat your hard drive on your DVR using your remote, but I will not say.

oh its cool. i know about the factor computer part pretty much i know several other tricks that dont involve diagnostic codes but pretty much upgrade codes and other special codes. BTW did u know that when u reboot most SA boxes, there's this code called "-NU-"? I have 2 boxes for viewing TV, 4 for experimental uses (one is a Motorola DCT???) and one that we dont use too much (its an older set-top. Explorer 2000).
I tend you to disagree with you on the NOT UNDERSTOOD part however somewhat of a cable guy code like u mentioned is a possibility. I am not tricked however by the FR. LA code when the box upgrades. I'm certain it means that it's scanning for frequencies especially when it counts down from FR. 09 to FR. 00 before the hexidecimal countdown begins. Watch when your box upgrades if you don't understand some of what I'm talking about me. :-)

I know my cable boxes in fact i got this trick from some forum and i know a bunch of other legal tricks so if you wanna learn just one or two its ok if you don't its also cool. *No intention to brag, just stating that its safe and even if its not fully legal its safe compared to other tricks.

cool well sorry if i was a bit rude at first. but you should put in the info that its a diagnostic code lol. no biggie. but i know that cable boxes are small form factor computers. i dont have a cable box but we have one a motorola dch6xxx dont know exact, but its not dvr :/ but i built my own pc dvr using windows media center and its working out great! and scientific atlanta is much better than moto IMO. but sa needs to come out with a version of iguide. i heard they are.

oh its cool. i know about the factor computer part pretty much i know several other tricks that dont involve diagnostic codes but pretty much upgrade codes and other special codes. BTW did u know that when u reboot most SA boxes, there's this code called "-NU-"? I have 2 boxes for viewing TV, 4 for experimental uses (one is a Motorola DCT???) and one that we dont use too much (its an older set-top. Explorer 2000).

I tend you to disagree with you on the NOT UNDERSTOOD part however somewhat of a cable guy code like u mentioned is a possibility. I am not tricked however by the FR. LA code when the box upgrades. I'm certain it means that it's scanning for frequencies especially when it counts down from FR. 09 to FR. 00 before the hexidecimal countdown begins. Watch when your box upgrades if you don't understand some of what I'm talking about me. :-)
