i dont think thats the entire answer, i think the main reason is MONEY. people forget that the reason all those other things in the 60, 70's and 80's was cause people were making money off it. after that well it became easier to make money without heavy revolutionizing and there was no money in making cars fly when everyone was paying out the ass for non flying cars.
