  • Joss has a more resonant and full voice, but Jen's is Higher.

  • Check out Joss Stone's rendition of Chokin' Kind or her version of The Right Time.. Incredible. It will send chills down your spine. Joss Stone is a once in a lifetime vocalist in a beautiful package.

  • kinda but not really and that song with j hud and neyo is a sample of smokey's baby come close. j hud has more control

  • they do sounds similar!!! both great voices

  • I prefer joss in both vocals and music.

Joss's music is so much better than jennifers, jennifers music dont do her voice justice either she really needs to get better material.

  • @BladeAndSoul have you heard her new album? it is feirce and does her voice justice

  • THEY ARE BOTH GREAT SINGERS AND ARTISTS.

i personally like jenifer's voice better cause i think is like a blend between whitney's voice and aretha's voice.

but i like joss' songs and music more than the jenifer's music.

  • I like Joss stone's voice better

  • Many times Jennifer Hudson voices in her Cd, sounds similar a Joss, but Joss not sounds like Jennifer. And Jennifer Live not sounds like Joss

  • Some similarity there, although still distinguishable. The first song here also sounded a bit like Amy Winehouse, but maybe more on the phrasing.

  • @andrewlavigne couple of mariah song reminds me joss lol.

  • omg i thought this about a month ago!! cery true video! z

  • JOSS!!!!! I LOVE!!

  • It's surprising they have so similar tones. I wouldn't think about it.

Yet ofcourse Jennifer is better because she has wider range. Her belts are skyrocketing.

  • i love them both like hell :D

  • hey MAL2BASIC

the song is called 'what were we thinking' it's from IJS joss latest album :)

  • Hey whats the name of the song at 2:12?

  • "What were we thinking"

  • and the name of the first one¿ by j hudson

  • "Leaving Tonight". It was a song on Ne-Yo's second studio album, Because of You.

  • I Love Joss Stone

  • WHAT IS THE SECIND SONG JENNIFER SANG

  • Comment removed

  • joss voce is warmer and pideal for pure jazz and soul stuff jennifer's voice is more gospel driven. but i can hear similarities

  • I agree with the comments about their techniques, but the battle isn't that fair... Joss moments are far from her best

  • They do have something similar,. . . you can still keep them apart, but it's still very, very similar

  • LOVE YA, JOSS!!! :)

  • They both have deep voices but they don't really sound alike apart from that. Joss has more rasp...I love them both! :)

  • Jennifer has a more soulful and deeper voice she can take on a journey with her voice. She does not stay in one stage.

  • I LOVE JENNIFER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....Joss is definiteley a favorite as well but jennifer gets me everytime

  • well jennifer has the more soulful emotional voice of the two. she belts more and it comes from her diaphram. joss stone does have a someone similar tone though. joss just has softer undertones than jen

  • Jennifer has a more gospel driven voice!

  • The tone has some similarities. But they sing in very diferent keys

  • The timbre's are similar.

  • i lkie teh snog ;P

  • I LOVE THEM BOTH BUT JHUD THATS MY BABY

  • They both are very similar, I've always thought that and LOVVVVVVVVVVE both of them so much. Both are AWESOME there is no tit for tat here...one thing is for sure, they both would make one kick butt duet together!! Thanks so much for making the video.

  • Jennifer's deliverly is more from the diaphragm and chest she does the gut like singing technique that Aretha does.

Joss's delivelry is more throaty and chest voice and uses her throat more to get her darker tones. Janis likes to sing through her throat. Joss is similar to Janis.

  • Overall their vocal style is similar because they are both influenced by the same artist which is the great Aretha.

Their deliverly is totally different from each other.

  • Jennifer has a bigger voice and a more wider range she can easily hit and hold those notes for more than a couple of seconds. I find Jennifer's voice to be more similar to an Aretha and Patti type voice.

She is not yet comfortable doing lower notes but she is a more trained vocalist she can hit those notes instead of warbling through them like Joss.

Her voice is also more edgy and gospel like check out 2:50.

  • they are among the best voices in new-soul! Seriously their vocals are extremely enjoyable.if jennifer dont over-belt she and joss would have that soul voice many wont get sick of.

  • @neosul7 It's a matter of taste I think....Myself, I LOVE Joss! But Jennifer's also pretty damn good! :)

  • @neosul7 Btw i love how joss warbles her high notes it sounds so awesome somehow.

  • Joss has to struggle a bit to hold notes.Joss has smooth vocals she is more jazzy she is more comfortable doing notes at a lower range but she is not trained enough to do those high notes yet. Her voice is more like a Janis because she does not sing a straight through like Aretha she likes to blow and force her voice around a lot and smudge her way through the songs.

  • You stole SlowDownBaby's video description, haha.

  • yup, thanks to him i dont have to type all those tags

  • her*

  • i love them both i never realy thoght say would of sounded alike but now ive listhend to this tghey do sound simular

  • Joss' tone is very similiar to Jennifer's. Her voice is also a lot like Alicia Keys.

  • .. no
