I find it odd that there are tons of christians out there who say that homosexuality isn't natural, and that gay people are all going to end up in hell, and then they say that God is omnipotent. to me, that seems like a contradiction in terms. I mean, seriously, God doesn't make mistakes.
&& this is why I'm Agnostic . some higher being created this world && i totally believe in that , but i'm not going to take some word of a dead guy who one day had an epiphany && decided to write the "right" way to live . I have no hate for people who are christian or any other religion, My first best friend is Muslim, my dad married a christian after my mom passed, my uncle is muslim, and i know/am friends with many people with different religions. I accept those people but I WILL NOT be forced to believe what they believe. I think that go around converting people to any religion is robbery.
@mccourt2011 They don't go to heaven if they still have no guilt or still have sin on their hearts. Likewise, anyone with sin STILL on their heart can not go to heaven, else it would defeat the purpose. Don't forget everyone has to pay surmountable time in purgatory before they can go to hell, and despite contrary belief, purgatory isn't any cup of coffee.

I never really believed in Christianity in the first place. I'm athiest. I hate being preached to. Now that I've actually seen that the Bible says that gays should be killed, that pisses me off even more. The problem is that I'm afraid to tell my parents about it because they said if I ever said I wasn't Christian, they would send me to a Christian private school and basically force religion on me. Yet they always tell me to be myself. Only 3 and a half years until I'm 18. Can't wait.

@akaziboni If homosexuals didn´t go to heaven (which I would doubt even if I believed in heaven) I´m sure that hell would me much more of a paradise for them. They´d have loads of fellow homosexuals with them, could have great gay parties and, best of all, wouldn´t have any gay-hating Christians insulting them (except if these also went to hell for not following the rule that you should love your neighbours which has a much more important status in the bible than any other rules).

I am Christian. I don't believe there is anything wrong with being gay. You are who you are, and I think you are a great person. A lot of us won't shove our beliefs down your throat. And some people need to learn the definition of tolerance: not agreeing with someone else or being who they are, but accepting that they have right to believe what they want and be who you are.

@eretrece God is merciful and i'll give u an example. Adam got given an explicit commandment and this was not to eat tha forbidden fruit or else he will die. He however freely chose to disobey God and he ate it anyway. God didn't kill Adam instantly but yet HE showed mercy to Adam by giving him a life time to repent from his sin so he can be reunited again with God....Bible was written by humans yes, but the author behind it was God himself example, how does Prof. Hawkins write his books?
@eretrece people were not scared of being gay. If u read the book of Genesis, it tell u of a city of Soddom and Gommorah. Homosexuality was practiced in that city and God saw this as an immoral thing amoung the people. Homosexuality is not normal even if u were to remove God from the equation, how does life continue without a heterosexual couple. @akaziboni I didn´t mean that people were scared of being gay themselves, I meant heterosexuals were scared of gay people because they were different from what they were themselves. But what I am trying to say is that the rules set up by God in Leviticus (in this case Leviticus 20:13) weren´t really set up by God, but set up by heterosexuals and even if these rules were inspired by their belief in God I don´t see why God would have a reason not to allow homosexuality.
@akaziboni Homosexuality isn´t normal if you define normal as something most or all people do / feel / whatever. But homosexuality is possible. Of course life wouldn´t continue without a heterosexual couple, but it´s not like everyone would be gay. The people who are gay could just go on being gay and there would still be enough heterosexual couples who could reproduce.

I am a christian and do NOT think that you are going to hell. Love is supposed to be eternal and for everyone and I have been studying this subject for a year now to see what the bible actualy says about homosexuality and I hope that more christians will realise that a lot (if not all) passages in the bibe talking about sexual relations between two of the same gender actually has nothing to do with the sexual relation, but with other topics such as power and to subdue others and so on.

It is a state in life that is absent of a connection with the divine God... without that relationship life on this earth is HELL.... behold the lifestyle and quality of life of those not in the Kingdom of God... Jesus did respond to the issue of arsenokoites (homosexuality); Mark 10:6 "But from the beginning God made them male and female. 7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; 8 And they twain shall be one flesh; so then they are no more twian, but one flesh. Jesus goes on to say that outside of this marital bond, it is adultry, and I Corinthians 6:9-11 contemns adultry and arsenokoites (gay sex). In I Cor. 6 both katamites and arsenokoites are mentioned.
@blankmessageforu you misunderstand the nature of the Old Testament ceremonial and dietary laws. The Old Testament primarily was a covenant with the Hebrews / Jews, aka Israelites. Christians are under the dispensation of Grace as related to us through the New Testament. The dietary law was abolished, see I Timothy, Chapter 4, Verse 4, which states, "For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused if it be received with thanksgiving..." The Ten Commandments are binding for us.

(no their not crazy, just...passionate with their belief, lol) However, with this said, no "demon" could have went into me upon birth and made me gay. Thus gay is not a sin. I'm a gay christian and I don't believe you can go to hell for being gay, even though many christians think other wise. It just wouldn't make sense for there to be no gay people in Heaven when they, at least myself and the gay people I've been around, are some of the most compassionate people around.
I might look like a monkey, however I know that I do look the way I do as a result of my choice to use my damn hand to touch my skull. I guess it wouldn't be as sudden, and therefore threatening to first make sure my book of all wisdom specifies whether to scratch my head in this situation or not. I would not want to risk going to hell for this, since I once brought five pieces of bread with me, when I met some friends at a river, without turning them into fish.
Personally, I have really had enough of "christians" trying to inform me about the consequences of me loving who i love. The most threatening and ragingly incosiderate, fed with quotable ignorance and belief in the wish, that somebody will make sure that they are safe, if they act as a disposable taperecorder of Bible verses, are the people once closest to me.

It was hell. My entire family looked at me as the black sheep. They had no idea I was gay. Although I knew exactly who I was, I posponed my "coming out" towards my family, because I didn't want them to think even les of me. They way I was thought, people would be "punished" by homosexuality, for the way they decided to live their life. Now I have to laugh about this at times. They actually would've blamed a kid for major sins comitted in his or her innocent existence thus far.
Obviously, I aswell always knew I was gay. At about twelve, I started walking into the woods behind our church every sunday, having a spliff, or jjust admiring the view over Zurich. I could not be with those people anymore.
At about fourteen, I finally grew the balls to let my mom know that I would not continue to visit this institution, for personal reasons.

It makes us see religion differently. For example, we learn that the word abomination back in the time the bible was written didn't have the same meaning as it does now, so it brought a lot of misinterpretation. @FIFII If these biblical references only applied to Christians and if God only wanted them to apply to Christians, wouldn´t that mean that God only cares about Christians and what they do, which could also mean that God didn´t really make all humans and would imply that God doesn´t love his neighbours, only his Christian ones (if one could call humans God´s neighbours, but I think you see what I´m trying to get at)?

Likewise, anyone with sin STILL on their heart can not go to heaven, else it would defeat the purpose. Don't forget everyone has to pay surmountable time in purgatory before they can go to hell, and despite contrary belief, purgatory isn't any cup of coffee.

I never really believed in Christianity in the first place. I'm athiest. I hate being preached to. Now that I've actually seen that the Bible says that gays should be killed, that pisses me off even more. The problem is that I'm afraid to tell my parents about it because they said if I ever said I wasn't Christian, they would send me to a Christian private school and basically force religion on me. Yet they always tell me to be myself. Only 3 and a half years until I'm 18. Can't wait.

He however freely chose to disobey God and he ate it anyway. God didn't kill Adam instantly but yet HE showed mercy to Adam by giving him a life time to repent from his sin so he can be reunited again with God....Bible was written by humans yes, but the author behind it was God himself example, how does Prof. Hawkins write his books?

Homosexuality was practiced in that city and God saw this as an immoral thing amoung the people. But what I am trying to say is that the rules set up by God in Leviticus (in this case Leviticus 20:13) weren´t really set up by God, but set up by heterosexuals and even if these rules were inspired by their belief in God I don´t see why God would have a reason not to allow homosexuality.

Of course life wouldn´t continue without a heterosexual couple, but it´s not like everyone would be gay. The people who are gay could just go on being gay and there would still be enough heterosexual couples who could reproduce.

Its good to know that you stand up to yourself. I am christian and i also have gay friends. The bible says many things to us about love and other topics but, In short God love us all no matter what we do. In the future if someone tells you that your going to hell just ignore it as you do and move on. In short im just gonna say this and hope people feel better about them selfs in the future. I am a christian and do NOT think that you are going to hell. Love is supposed to be eternal and for everyone and I have been studying this subject for a year now to see what the bible actualy says about homosexuality and I hope that more christians will realise that a lot (if not all) passages in the bibe talking about sexual relations between two of the same gender actually has nothing to do with the sexual relation, but with other topics such as power and to subdue others and so on.

Jesus did respond to the issue of arsenokoites (homosexuality); Mark 10:6 "But from the beginning God made them male and female. 7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; 8 And they twain shall be one flesh; so then they are no more twian, but one flesh. Jesus goes on to say that outside of this marital bond, it is adultry, and I Corinthians 6:9-11 contemns adultry and arsenokoites (gay sex). In I Cor. 6 both katamites and arsenokoites are mentioned.

@blankmessageforu you misunderstand the nature of the Old Testament ceremonial and dietary laws. The Old Testament primarily was a covenant with the Hebrews / Jews, aka Israelites. Christians are under the dispensation of Grace as related to us through the New Testament. The dietary law was abolished, see I Timothy, Chapter 4, Verse 4, which states, "For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused if it be received with thanksgiving..." The Ten Commandments are binding for us.

my job. Now, I'm in the same boat as far as I too am a sinner, we all are. I have to daily confess my sins to God or I'm also in danger of the judgment. What I hope to do is show you that even though your heading down the wrong path, there still is hope. Jesus Christ died for your sins & mine 2000 years ago on the Cross & because of that God can legally dismiss our cases. I'm Christian and Gay as well. And my family is heavily Christian too, to the point where they go around blessing every corner of every room to be guarded by angels and protect against demons... (no their not crazy, just...passionate with their belief, lol) However, with this said, no "demon" could have went into me upon birth and made me gay. Thus gay is not a sin. I might look like a monkey, however I know that I do look the way I do as a result of my choice to use my damn hand to touch my skull. I guess it wouldn't be as sudden, and therefore threatening to first make sure my book of all wisdom specifies whether to scratch my head in this situation or not. Personally, I have really had enough of "christians" trying to inform me about the consequences of me loving who i love. The most threatening and ragingly incosiderate, fed with quotable ignorance and belief in the wish, that somebody will make sure that they are safe, if they act as a disposable taperecorder of Bible verses, are the people once closest to me.
I have more than somewhat of a problem with these beliefs. I respect everybody however, if they are respectful towards others.

It was hell. My entire family looked at me as the black sheep. They had no idea I was gay. Although I knew exactly who I was, I posponed my "coming out" towards my family, because I didn't want them to think even les of me. They way I was thought, people would be "punished" by homosexuality, for the way they decided to live their life. Now I have to laugh about this at times. They actually would've blamed a kid for major sins comitted in his or her innocent existence thus far.

Obviously, I aswell always knew I was gay. At about twelve, I started walking into the woods behind our church every sunday, having a spliff, or jjust admiring the view over Zurich. I could not be with those people anymore.
At about fourteen, I finally grew the balls to let my mom know that I would not continue to visit this institution, for personal reasons.

It makes us see religion differently. For example, we learn that the word abomination back in the time the bible was written didn't have the same meaning as it does now, so it brought a lot of misinterpretation. Therefore, homosexuality was never banned in the first place but people like to believe it was.

We are all born with different predispositions. It's natural, but only because our species is broken.
Gay people aren't especially ill. They're broken just like everyone else.
The problem is that God will meet us face to face, and anyone who is still broken will not survive that meeting.
God never said don't be born gay. He said don't act on those feelings.
Why does He care about this specifically? Because we are made in His image, He isn't gay, and it wasn't part of His plan.
