@guppy971113 it actually depends on what kind of camera you use.  For me I use a Flip Camera and that connects via USB. Others might use a SD card. You upload the videos to youtube as private and then upload them to editor.

I am actually working on a new tutorial for this, because the editor has changed so much video video is no longer current.

What I use is CamStudio. It is a free program and plenty of tutorials for it here on YouTube. Most of the tutorials come with the link to download it.

yeah, it's built in to my camera. i was planning to take some video footage from my town and then narrate some story or pseudo-news report using separate mic and recording with, for example, Audacity. but it seems it's not gonna work this way with youtube editor. hoping this video editor will improve in the near future because i can't do any video editing on my laptop 'cause it's cpu is too slow

@SamusAranRox you can not add effects, but they recently added transitions. To do that click on the icon that looks like a bow tie. Then select which transition you want to use, click and drag between the two video clips

@p3dr011 As an experiment I downloaded the video and uploaded to my account as private. It did trigger the content ID match. A music company named Warner Chappell is claiming ownership of the music.

Anyway I removed the video as I don't need it any more, but my guess is the content ID match is catching it and not letting you put it in editor.

Well, coming from someone who doesn't have an editing system, I like this, it's good for montage type stuff, and I'm planning to do some music video type things, the only thing I DONT like is that the music isn't very recent, the most recent song is California girls, the Kidzbop version, thats it. BUt other wise, it's awesome.

Mr. Hapy: Thanks! I so it 20 times and didn`t got those other editors that YouTube doesn`t have. No titles, no more sofisticated video editor. Anyway YouTube`s Editor works ok, if you make 6 videos to edit in YouTube. Lets say 6 parts edited and uploaded (time .... x6) and make the final cut with YouTube`s video editor and 3 transitions and the music album. ok?
