  • The relief carving at the start is from the Stone at Dunnichen that records the battle of Nechtansmere against the romans in the 8th Century A.D.

  • scottish never british , never .

  • @thebunsterooo but your SNP are happy to be controlled by the EU ahaha makes no sense.

  • the further north you go, the more there is of deep seated bitterness over culloden, I know, as culloden moor was once just 5mins walk from where I lived for 7 years, and I am a highlander, as was stated, many turncoats on our own side sold us out, (other scots) is why we ARE different from even lowland scots.

I was born here, I work here, I holiday here, I spend my money here, and by fuck i'll die here, the highlands is more than my home, it's my essence.

  • We're being taught a false history and being lied to about the reasons these wars (Crimean War etc) were fought. Can't trust TV controlled by the Knights of Malta. For the real history I highly recommend the book Vatican Assassins by E. Phelps.

  • Hail cousins from Clan Little!

  • Its soo funny reading some of these comments & how wrong some of you are. Google is full of shit & you should never get your historical facts from it.. Read a book, maybe even watch the bbc special on "The History of Scotland" found in the related videos---->.

I was once one of those google wieners thinking I knew it all about scotland & stating false facts untill I actually did my research and realized how wrong I actually was..

  • The Scoti tribe

  • Cuimhnich co` leis a tha thu..Remember the men from whence you came -- Old Gaelic Proverb~

  • fucking useless french thumbs up if you agree

  • True but a pity (as Bremner the Brit says) they have been fighting for England for the last 300 years and not for Scotland.

Before the Britnats jump down my throat, my father, uncles and did their bit and my grandfather was wounded fighting for the British Empire at the Somme.

As if we need the likes of him to take us on a tour of Cullodeon!

  • @jVlonzter Don't be a racist idiot, I'm mixed, my mother is scottish form New Cumnock, Ayrshire. So am I only have pure and good? My grandpa had a black friend who was born in Scotland and saw him as a fellow Scotsman and that man died for Scotland which is more than what you will ever do for Sctoland. So just shut it and don't make us Scots like like bigots.

  • @Japanorama Well said..I too am an Ayrshireman- I am an ex soldier settled in Germany- does it make me or ma bairns less Scots... I served with Mash men, taffs and paddies- each the salt of the earth..

  • @scottie278 Who are Mash men?

  • @strathpipe That is what the Old Scot's Div called the English squaddies...

  • @scottie278 Ta .......but why Mash?

  • @strathpipe potatoes and mash- pie and mash- sausages and mash....

  • @scottie278 Thank you for the info...........I can think of other things to call them ;-)

  • @strathpipe ..not my turn of phrase- there are many others of vourse....

  • @scottie278 Yep I'm sure there are

  • scottish soldiers = bravest warriors in the world.

    and thats from an englishman.

  • @ranbrent thats a nice thing to say

  • @oo00infinity00oo it's nice and it's true.

  • also kingdom good luck with ur blue blooded policy, guessing 5 million is not too small?

  • There is only one bastard more treacherous than an Englishman and that is a Brit.

The sooner these islands are rid of the Brits and their mentality the better.

  • @eilanroo trace your dna its probably brittish unless your from the highlands

  • to kingdomofdalriada and TheBakamage, I'm so frikin sick of the rants from choobs like you on Scotland related youtube video's. You cut down anyone who isn't born and bred on Scottish soil. The reason you're not independent is because of this kind of xenophobia. You're doin the same thing you hate in the English with their blue-blooded bigotry. You should be kissing the boots of your Diaspora and those non-Scots who support your people and love your culture. So STFU.

  • I just want to express my disdain for those pretend scottish wannabes at xmarksthescot.

  • @kingdomofdalriada

    what do u mean?

  • @kingdomofdalriada

Aye, I had a look at there website - forum leaders and couldn't help laughing, only one scot actually on there moderating team. And the looks of all the members, are American

  • @TheBakamage the scots come from america!

  • @kingdomofdalriada don;t worry mate most people with mac in their name down south are proud of being english

  • @kingdomofdalriada let me guess, you've got blue "scottish" blood that runs all the way back to Ireland? I guess that make you a REAL Scot . . . RIGHT!!! You know instead of saying that people in other countries of Scottish descent are wannabes, you should be embracing us as cousins, brothers, sisters, family. We have Scottish blood too, and we can't really help where our ancestors decided to emigrate to. We can't help being American, Canadian, Australian, French, etc

  • @soccerchamp0511 .There is a big enough difference between the Celt-Gaels (Irish) and the Caledonian Picts (Scots) for them to have distinguashable DNA code markers.

The Irish have the OGAP8 haplotype code,

Whereas the Scots have the Pictish OGAP4 haplotype genetic code.

For the record, There are many Pictish settlements in Scotland that predate any of the Celt tribes in Ireland by at least 2000 years. The 'standing stones of Calanais' are over 5000 years old. Google 'Calgacus' the Pict. :-)

  • The Scots Picts ferociously defended their land from all tyranny including the vikings, the roman empire, and the english with european support. The gaels (Irish) migrated to the west coast of scotland for shelter and allegiance. The history from then on is a rabbit hole.... from the declaration of arbroath to US declaration of Indepence (of which has 28 scots signatures on it)..... i guess it just annoys me how so many people believe the Scots descended from the Irish?...

  • if you seek, you'll see that the Scots pioneered almost everything and basically invented the modern world, one thing tattooed in the DNA is Freedom Fighting... and as the declaration of arbroath says.... "It is in truth, not glory nor riches or honours that we are fighting, but for freedom, which no honest man should give up but with life itself...." History of prejudices has bread the fighting DNA of the Picts... and with the best intentions it's still out there all over the world today...

  • @Byrraway, " i guess it just annoys me how so many people believe the Scots descended from the Irish?... "

The "Irish" had that name imposed on them by Pope Leo X in the 16th century. Irish is a Papist name. The Scoti/Gaels were---Scottish. The name goes back almost two thousand years is derived from the Scythians (Meaning it's not a Latin name). According to early Saxon and Welsh writers, Scyth and Scot were synonymous.

  • @Islandretreat Well there's no real evidence to say the Scotti came from Ireland, they may well have been indigenous to the land itself, just living on a different part of what is now Scotland to the Picts. As for American Scots, in my view and opinion, they have every right to call themselves as much Scots through ancestry and have every right to be proud of our land and their heritage.

  • @soccerchamp0511 The Scotti Tribe (that gave scotland its name) was originally from Northern Ireland

  • @soccerchamp0511 aye. I am born in america to scottish family. Play the bagpipes and wear my kilt Proudly. I am going to scotland for college. And going to live in scotland for the rest of my life. It is my true home. Alba Gu Brath

  • @soccerchamp0511 "you've got blue "scottish" blood that runs all the way back to Ireland? I guess that make you a REAL Scot . . . RIGHT!!!"

Wrong. See my post below. There was no such a place as "Ireland" until the 16th century. It was called Scotia - after the Scots. If you were born in America you're not a Scot. You're an American. Most "Scots" in America think they're Irish anyway. Albeit, they've been deceived by Roman Catholic revisionists.

  • @soccerchamp0511 well said!! trust me,anyone who has scottish blood IS like a brother or sister to nearly all scots.all over the world we have emmigrated to,its part of our history so anyone with scottish blood ive met in america say, have always obviously got on amazingly with.dont mind that tadger!! peace :D

  • @soccerchamp0511 scottish descent doesnt realy run back to ireland, only a small number of gaels [irish] crossed the sea to the west of scotland, scotland was a land full of pagan pict tribes at the time. the gael culture was far more advanced and spread to the picts when they both joined to fight an ango army. it was realy the gaelic culture that spread other than the false idea that the irish crossed the sea and spread over the whole of scotland.

  • @soccerchamp0511 there was also no such thing as ireland or scotland back then and you also should know the gaels originaly came from france/germany not ireland so there was alot of sea crossing going on to get to this murky debate lol.
