  • Aye, tat one was kept quiet, but it couldn't be kept hidden forever, hehe.Nigerian slight at Dundee United is shared by many a Dark Blue.

  • Never made it to medicine hat though...

  • This is barry. Great stuff. Added irony that, as you can find on this youtube here, there was a documentary on Channel Four last year in the Lagos shanties, where the Nigerian natives refer to the highly unfortunate as a "Dundee United" after an ill-fated pre-season tour there by the Arabs. Tis worth a gander - search 'Lagos, Nigeria, Dundee United'. Love from Leith. x

  • wur aw joack tamsum's bairns...even wi' a dod o' irony

  • does anyone have this song they could put on youtube or send me ? it used to be on youtube but this is the only one now, cheers x

  • Steve, my channel is of no interest to anyone but me really, I just enjoy the things I enjoy but you might like a couple of St. Andrew tracks I`ve got there. Michael`s a co-writer and plays on the tracks.

  • The play Michael`s talking about is The Mill Lavies. I went to see it many times - brilliant! Erchie wiz a wee darlin` :)

  • It`s difficult to get the humour of this if you`re not from Dundee or around. I am and I laugh my wee socks off every time I hear it. Michael is a lyrical genius!

  • @bonniekilty - Not necessarily so ... I've not been to Dundee, but have seen Michael many times and have laughed my 'little' socks off every time. Granted, your local knowledge will make more sense of his references - but I think Michael is a universal talent. Glad you like the post ... will be posting more from the same show soon.

  • @steveccc Indeed, Michael is a universal talent. I was referring to this song in particular steve. Local knowledge does obviously make it funnier. I thought I`d check out the world globe to see what he wiz on aboot :) and the Dundee areas he refers to are in the exact postion of the map of Africa, if you look it as Dundee/ Scotland. Clever. I was in my first band with him when I was 15 and we`ve worked together many times over the years since. I`m a huge fan. I look forward to your postings. x

  • Love the keyboard on the ironong board.
