@sSTRE3TDR3EMZz94 Well it kind of depends on what the music is actually like. Usually when the music is very long, it is not simply a regular song stretched out. It usually has (or tries to have) a lot of atmosphere and has the capability to put you in a relaxing trance. The best high in my opinion is turning off all of the lights, putting on noise cancelling headphones, and listening to an entire DSBM album. Your brain will travel more than any drug induced trance will allow it.

@sSTRE3TDR3EMZz94 Well in a short song, it mainly has an appeal for just having a good sound, and doesn't have room for atmosphere. Atmosphere in music is like the power it has to have an effect on you while listening to it and afterwards. For example, in DSBM (depressive suicidal black metal), it first sounds, like the name, extremely depressing, but has the power to make you subconscious and you end up exploring your inner mind. DSBM isn't for everyone though, people either love it or hate it.

@sSTRE3TDR3EMZz94 I do like DSBM. You can't really go from BFMV to DSBM though, it is a completely different kind of metal, most people will either find it boring or awful. If you are interested in it, I would suggest starting with the band Xasthur, as they are probably the easiest to get into. Check out the song Prison of Mirrors. You don't need to hear the whole thing, just the beginning because the first riff is one of the best examples of DSBM. Don't be surprised if you are repulsed though.

@sSTRE3TDR3EMZz94 Yeah it is extremely depressing, it shouldnt actually make you suicidal though. I may really like it because I have clinical depression though and I love extremely dark things. As for the vocals, they aren't really the focus in DSBM, the actual chord structure is. There are several songs that are entirely instrumental.

@Blashyrkh22 yea the most suicidal deppressing music i ever really listen to would be Brokencyde. there older album called The Broken. you could look up Brokencyde - Take Me Away, Brokencyde - Taking Life From Me, Brokencyde - Dying To Live, Brokencyde - Alone In The Dark, Brokencyde - I'm Sorry I Am, Brokencyde - Dead B4 I Died, and theres more but you get the point i dunno if you will like it but yea.

@Blashyrkh22 i posted a comment before this one so read that one first..... i looked up the song you were talking about. it sounded kool. but i didnt here any singing. and i looked up a few others by them. i heard some screaming vocals but that was all. but also now i know why its called DSBm. haha. i was just a lil too dark and deppresing for me just in my opinion. im more into the kinda music that makes you wanna punch someone haha. like Punk-Rock (Bad Religion is awsome) and Post-Hardcore
