excuse me - the Rex was definitely not very skillfully designed when it came to external lines. The Conte di Savoie was by far more elegant...and so were a lot of other liners.
But I of course admit that discussing such is a quite subjective thing...;-)
Sorry folks, the dowdy old Queens, the QE2, the 3 Olympic class even the France.. were just not in the same class as this ship, which was decades ahead of her time and re-wrote the book on hull design, interiors, propulsion,style (check out the huge Lalique lights in the 100 metre dining salon!)...unmistakably French!

and they built another 'titanic' clone. France built a masterpiece
To be honest I think that Normandie is a reletivly ugly ship, but thats my opinion, so please dont bite back at me because of that. also I think there are many ships that look much more appealing, like SS United States or RMS Olympic.i dont see why there is always a big fuss over the Normandie being the most beautiful liner ever built.please tell me some one agrees with me.

Olympic, Titanic, Britannic, Lusitania, Queen Mary, and QE2. Those are just 20th century liners OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD. Then there is Queen mary 2, Millennium, Century, and Queen Victoria. Those are also off the top of my head. And I'm not sayingi that they are better... I am saying that I like them more. Get over it; its called an opinion.
