I kind of like the helmet... the rest of it... no- I don't like fat-looking armors, and that includes Havel's and Giants armor. I like the look of Brass and Ornstein, even Elite and normal Knight armors are good- protection with some mobility, that's my thing.

This armor design is actually quite genious. The helmet deceives an untrained archer into aiming for the false head, when they should've aimed lower where the real head is. The great size of the armor also gives the idea of a large target, when in reality the target is rather small.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Smough's is the best melee armor. At least from what I've seen. I haven't used it myself as I much prefer Ornstein's.

I know Havel is used a lot mostly for it's unbeatable poise. Stone has some pretty good resistances. I hear Giant is good for PvP builds but I won't really know until I max it out. I used Stone up until Anor Londo then switched to Havel. Working well so far.

@FinalFantasySeven you don't have to kill ornstein last, by the time new game+ rolls around you'll already have way better armor (armor doesn't scale based on NG+) and the only reason to kill ornstein last is to get a possible achievement (which is useless since they don't get you anything)

@Mst3kfanatic1 True, you don't have to kill Ornstein last but it's not just about the achievement that you get by getting all rare weapons but it's about getting both his and Smough's armour / weapon which requires 2 playthroughs. In NG+ even having strong armour still doesn't prevent the big damage they deal to you which is why I recommended getting Orntein's set first since Smough is the easier opponent.

I got Ornstein's set and I'm still playing around with that and other armour sets because I like to experiment and have fun. In the end, it's just a video game and people should be able to play the game how they want.

@FinalFantasySeven i only really have two sets i use and i have all bases covered i have the havel's ring/ havel's armor for the main game and then i use the gold trimmed cloak stuff for grinding in the darkroot forest. I don't do the dragon head glitch though.

@insertnamehere2210 Yes, you can get his Greatsword of Artorias by using that +10 weapon with his soul. Keep in mind that there is a "True" version of the sword aswell, you need to combine his soul with a broken straight sword or the straight sword hilt which means 2 playthroughs are required to get them both.

@insertnamehere2210 I haven't yet used his souls to forge a weapon. One of them is a cursed version that allows you to hit ghosts while the other includes the magic stat as damage. There is also a shield that requires his soul and I think it has the highest guard break reduction in the game so I think I'm going with the shield first and then another 2 playthroughs for his swords.

@UltimateBeastMachine First beat the boss fight against Smough and Ornstein. You must make sure you kill Ornstein first because killing Smough second will get you his soul. Get a mace club type weapon (can be found in Blight Town and Anor Londo) and upgrade it to +10. Then take that weapon with the boss soul to the blacksmith in Anor Londo to make this hammer.

@UltimateBeastMachine In Anor Londo, after the thrid bonfire there should be a room that has a wall that can be hit to reveal a hidden passage. Go down those stairs and you'll find treasure chests, one of those is a mimic which should drop a club weapon once killed. In Blight Town you can kill those big ogre type enemies which have a chance of dropping a club.

Ornstein's powered up version is harder to beat than Smough's so it's my recommendation that you get rid of his second version in the first playthrough and then beat Smough last in the second playthrough. Powered-up Smough isn't too hard to beat as he moves slow.

To be honest it's better to get Ornstein's armour in the first playthrough because he will be very difficult to beat in the New Game+.
