@no1yankeesfan ME!! jk. I recorded a drum track, but it wasn't good enough. If you had watched the whole thing, you would notice the line in the credits that says "Drum Programming". In other words, I synthesized the drums. But the synthesized track was based on what I had recorded, except it was better. I have actually remixed this song now, and the drums come out better, but I did not ever upload the remastered version
This guy is my friend and I know for a fact that he had recorded it several times. This recording I believe he recorded it in his house so that may be why the quality is a little subpar.
@Zone44Films Regarding to the vocals, I was referring to only a couple of seconds that I thought sounded flat here and there. Remember I'm not a musician so my opiniion could be technically wrong. Also overal I said it's really very good, I can only criticise by comparing with signed bands that I normally listen to.
Further to my comment below, I am not in any sense a good musician, or in any sense musically qualified, so my opinions and advice etc may be rubbish.
I actually like this quite a lot, hence am doing to give a detailed-ish critique.
The intruments for my taste are mixed rather low, it makes the lyrics easy to hear which is good, but generally I think it should be a bit easier to hear the instruments than this.
The vocalist is clearly very skilled, but I think this was done in one take and it shows, there are a few places where he sounds slightly sub-par, doing 2 or 3 takes and splicing them together could make it sound 2-3 times better.
Who ended up doing the drums for this? Was it you, James? 'Cause I just listened to it again and I realized they're pretty much awesome.
