  • I visited this museum for the first time a few years ago, and I had flashbacks of this movie! Funny how some things just stick in your mind.

  • OSHA needs to get some handrails on the stairway to the heavens. That looks extremely unsafe.

  • Since when did the old pyramids stairs have metal hand rails

    lol

  • @sageofgame I think the point is that physically it's somewhere in the museum. Or maybe they only had the budget to shoot somewhere in the museum.

  • @sageofgame FTW

  • 3:07

Now that scared me when I was a kid.

  • don't you get it ??? do you wanna be a star ??? Osiris ??? sacrifice ?? Illuminati stuff that seems to be innocent and Christian but very evil thought to the unconscious level...i felt so scary thinking that my daughter may be exposed to this

  • I had dreams about this for years and thought I made this memory up. I can't belive that I found the episode. I remember the "graphics" being so much better than this. lol This is my fav episode.

  • Better to stay in Sesame Street-- teaching our babies this????????

  • I was like 4 as well. man and i so agree you would neever see this kinda stuff on tv these days if you did it would be crapy watered down version, haha thanks for puting this up

  • isn't it sad that the guy who plays sahu is going to die in a car crash in 1994 at 18 yrs old?

  • @youbastards100 how do u know?

  • WHOA... This seems so different from when I was little. I always felt like it was kind of dark and it freaks me out... unlike normal sesame street. That stairway was scary.

  • this is a great adventure.

  • Big Bird is pretty gutsy to talk back to an ancient deity of death like that...

  • this explains to children the slyness of religion, the fact that your heart has to be lighter than a feather. this makes this part very dark in such a intentionally entertaining film. i love this film since i saw it on youtube 2 years ago. thanks

  • Man, I was 4 years old when this came out, and that was the last time I saw this...and I remembered it very well. The power of Big Bird and frightening imagery!

  • That boy was cute as a button.

  • i've always love this part of the movie because this part is very touching @ 2:42

  • haha "somebody up their likes us"

  • Mind-blowing suspense.

  • thanks for that :)

  • At first it looks like that statue is doing it.

  • there's no feather because egypt's civilization ended so long ago...

  • I can't believe I found this! So long ago!

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I have vivid memories of watching this as a child!

  • 6:27-6:56, Nice (or rather horrible) Wake Up call, Oscar! LOL!

  • very touching... and then Oscar brings us right back into the fun! I can't believe I missed this as a kid!

  • i was gonna say thats quite a depressing ending for sesame street but then his heart was lighter than a feather and i thought thats mor like it! lol

  • they mean that if your heart is lighter than a feather i think it means that you are pure of heart.

  • stupid system everyon's hearts are heavier than a feather

  • what they meant was if u think bad thoughts your heart is heavy bt if you think nothing but pure and wholesome thoughts your heart is light

  • Exactly, and the heart isn't judged by how much you love, but by how much you're loved by others.

  • what they meant was if u think bad thoughts your heart is heavy bt if you think nothing but pure and wholesome thoughts your heart is light

  • Wow! This was my favorite movie as a kid! Thanks so much for posting it, it means a great deal!

  • Osiris is played by Fritz Weaver, who played Dr. Joseph Weiss in the "Holocaust" miniseries.

  • This is an important video.

  • I always loved this movie as a kid! They don't make movies like this anymore!!! Kids are TOTALLY deprived these days...

  • hey all kids in 1983 all growdup some these made one become one day next predients of united sates of american right after 44 if he re eletion as 2nd term

  • This comment doesn't make sense! Try using spell check and some punctuation.

  • SAHU'S HEART IS THE COMPANION CUBE!

  • OMG!

  • i love snuffy mi fav aww !!!!! i love u snuffy!!!

  • Wiping tears. How touching this was.

  • I love how this sort of thing would never EVER get into a little kids' movie nowadays. This is basically affirming that Egyptian mythology and the afterlife (albeit a kind of softened version of it) is true in the Sesame Street universe. Can't catch the Christian demographic with that sort of thing. ;)

    And yes, Sahu FTW indeed!

  • I'm even Catholic and I agree with you. The censors take kids' shows way too seriously these days...

  • You know I have to say that despite how 'New Age' this story of Sahu seems in the beginning, with all the emphasis on curses and invisible cats and the demon, not to mention the fact that Sahu is basically a ghost, there is something in this for Christians and Catholics. Big Bird's sacrifice of his feather and his and Snuffy's love is a reminder of a greater Sacrifice, you know? And with Someone Who cares, we can all be "stars."

  • @strawberrykey

On the contrary, I kind of feel like it wouldn't make it simply because it contained something to do with the afterlife and religion in general. Spirituality at all seems to be taboo in kids shows nowadays, unless it's "anthropological", and even then, it's toned down. It also deals with things that ridiculous people would be affronted with--a lot of people would probably label Sasu as suicidal and would resent that some of the statues were nudes (*eyeroll*).

  • @strawberrykey BRING ME THE BROOMSTICK OF THE WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST!

  • @strawberrykey MMM HMM

  • I love the railings on the sides of the steps

  • who'd have thought you could have a big adventure in the museum

  • I do every six months!!

...but not like this one lol

  • I love how Bird is just talking to Osiris like he's Mr. Hooper or something and not a wrathful, ancient, egyptian god.

  • @margaritasaurus I Understand

  • sahu ftw
