I love how MS changed the solo in this live version. It's almost as if he forgot the solo (I doubt it) and just replayed the chorus...but I love the way it blends. I have this DVD, and the whole thing is awesome, but this is far and away my favorite song of all time.

Thank you very much for posting this video. This is my favorite song ever written, and I've been trying to nail it on my Explorer for about 9 months, but just can't quite get some parts of it to sound right. This is the first song I'm learning how to play all the way through...

as Rudolph & Michael double lead on some parts! there is really 2 double leads & 2 different riffs on the original song!

@DaMuttzNutz I love Strangers In The Night but you should give a listen to Thin Lizzy's "Live And Dangerous & "Live/Live" where all the guitarists that ever played in T.H. made an appearance.Great live recordings.Matter of fact."Live And Dangerous" was once voted "Best Live Rock Album Recording" in Guitar For The Practicing Musician or one of those magazines.Not taking away anything from UFO/Scorpions.I love them like life itself.Unforgetable groups that should never be forgotten/underestimated.

@DaMuttzNutz Only recently have I read about that claim.I saw Thin Lizzy in the 70's,2 nights in a row opening for Queen @ the old Boston Garden and the L&D album seems identical to me.I was not on drugs.T.H. were flawless live.Regardless,I admire T.H. so much that any claims of studio dubs has no affect for my love of their music.They are one of the first rock groups to greatly influence me to learn the guitar.What do you think of TH's LIVE/LIVE album.I think it's an incredible album also.R&R.

@MrJohnnyDistortion I saw Lizzy live 3 or 4 times and I must admit they were good live. The reasons for the guitar overdubs has never been adequately explained. Maybe they just wanted it to be perfect. Saw Shencker live a couple of time, both with UFO and MSG and I don't think any of The Lizzy guitarists matched him, though Gary Moore came pretty damn close.

@DaMuttzNutz I think T.L. may have dub'd because they wanted as perfect of a representation of their work to leave behind.I can't fault them.No,not many could match Schenker when he was on.Moore is exceptional,"Still In Love With You".I asked a cover band to play this song once and the whole club was in awe.They probably had no idea.Covered it perfect.I look at bands/these bands for what they are on their own,what they produce and I love them equally because they both have such unique qualities.

Scorps are calling it a day and you will never see Michael back in UFO. I had the honor of meeting him a few weeks ago....I asked him what happened with the UFO reunion a few years ago. His reply was "Phil Moog happened" he then laughed and said "he isnt a very nice person"

gr8 vid but not sure Michael was on top form, i know he was havin a lot of drink problems at this time of his life but i dnt even think he was playing guitar, i play guitar myself and sum things he was doing like the sound of sliding and he was touching different notes with no sound....... bit dodgy but love him all the same, gr8 guy, awsome guitarist (when sober) and still a fan no-matter wot, nice vid :D

It is said that Michael was a real heavy drinker during Lovedrive tour and Mathias took his place due to that problem.

those are not the true facts, in this case,Michael had just left UFO,Rudolph asked Michael to join Scorps. again but Schenker wanted to do his own thing (MSG) Mathias was on stand by,Lovedrive was released in 1979,MSG I was released 1980,I have posted interviews where Michael explains what really happened but for some reason people seem to make up rumors & by the time it ends,A lot of extra stuff has been added!

I know your videos from UFO and MSG and so on (thanx btw). Michaels live performances from the 70's with UFO and early 80's with MSG are great but during the 90's and 2000 you can tell a strong decline, for what ever reason.

Axel, thats some nice words about Mike! I been playing his stuff since 78'. I truly think he is a legend and when he's gone, his music will live in us forever..He just played here in Redondo beach california and missed him. Will make sure to see him next time he comes out. I had this song or some of Michael's melodic solo running through my head and popped over to the computer to do a search here...I figured that I would be able to find the original audio if nothing else...this is quite the treat...it brings back many memories...it's been since the Walk On Water tour that I've seen Michael live and since probably Blackout that I've seen the Scorpions...I remember the mass of guitars including Klaus gathering at the front of the stage towards the end...Awesome Axe!
