  • Playlist by Mirrjam is amazing

  • "The unaffordable house band."

  • The Andres Segovia of the dobro. Go, Jerry, Go!

  • @wondrestar Peador O'Donnel is

Peadar O'Donnell was born in County Donegal, Ireland in 1893. He attended St Patrick's College, Dublin, where he trained as a teacher. He taught on Arranmore Island before spending time in Scotland.

O'Donnell joined the Irish Republican Army (IRA) during the War of Independence. He was imprisoned in Mountjoy Gaol and went on hunger-strike for 41 days.

  • Hypnotized by the groove.

  • They didn't mention it, but this tune was composed bu Donal Lunny...

  • awsome gitfiddling unequal in any language!!~!!

  • Anyone else notice that the bass 'solo' audio and video are pretty off sync?

  • Too good for words to describe it. Masterful!

  • yes sir this really is the dogs

  • Oh my Gawd! That was incredible. Cookin'! Douglas blows my mind and with this ensemble feeding off of him, just amazing. Those improvised doublebass bow-rips are so cool.

  • only heard him do this solo before, both sound great but it was especially nice hearing the ensemble thicken the sound, slightly more "folky" in the literal sense, great stuff :D

  • Douglas is indeed a master, but what an ensemble helping him make this complete. Bravo! Thank you for posting.

  • I often forget how great Jerry sounds on the Weissenborn! Whew!!!!....

  • Magical,Incredible, wonderful!!!

    MARAVILLOSOS!!!

  • this is by far one of the most amazing things i've ever heard jerry and friends do

  • Its Open D tuning D A D F# A D low to high

  • The Takarasaka part...music doesn't get any better. All the instruments voices are heard.

  • this is absolutely amazing! fantastic instrumental!

  • Anyone know what tuning he's using?

  • douglas is pretty much in d b g d b g 90% of the time (high to low). its standard bluegrass dobro tuning.

  • sounds more like open D to me, and Im pretty sure standard Dobro is GBDGBD (still open g though, just considerably higher)

  • Open D, same as Monkey let the hogs out!

  • BEAUTIFUL!!

What a cast of very talented musicians

  • I love this guy!!

    hes got an awesome talent!

  • yes! Absolutely - what is missing? The DVD release, dear BBC people!

  • Beyond the music ( a real dream ) we MUST say how much the quality of each " Transatlantic Sessions " movie is HIGH , pictures , colors , lights ... ( on both series ) HATS OFF to the director ( s ) and his / her team !!!
