@ArioDragon It is... something about the death of the dragon on the tower caused a virus outbreak that carries over to Nier. That's pretty much its only relation to Drakengard, which is why its not called Drakengard 3. I never actually got to play Nier. I would probably rent it to check it out but from what I've heard about it I don't think I'd keep it around.

@OroCrimson I bought Nier on a whim not expecting anything special. What I got were some of the best characters and writing I have ever seen. Not just in a video game, anywhere. The gameplay was nothing special but very solid and the graphics aren't the best in the world, but the voice acting is great, and the dialoged (unlike most JRPGs) flowed naturally. Finally, the soundtrack is stellar. I can not recommend this game enough.

i'd rather see one that completes the 18 year gap in the game where loads of important events like thr formation of the knights of the seal, verdelet's betrayal and murder and oror's discovery of nowe all took place. If only Oror had a dragon himself he would have been the perfect protagonist for that game

dude, if you reli want to know what happened in the 18 year gap, just level your swords (long and short) with the name of the character you want to know about, for example, to know more of Nowe, complete Nowe's Sword and read its history. to find out about Ciam and how he became the way he is, just completely level up his sword and read its story. Everything is written on the blades.

lol obviously i know what hapened in the 18 year long gap since i mentioned that Verdelet was murdered which they only specified in Caim's swords history. but still, if we wanted to read all that happened, wouldn't Drakengard be a book instead of a game? And not everyone has dozens of hours to spend leveling up their swords. All I'm saying is that it would be best that they made an entire game out of it rather than give us the condensed version in the history of a few (some below par) swords.

but you must admit. the game was epic. plus, it gives you something to do, because, well, you want to slaughter, when you do your sword levels up, then your tired of slaughtering you fool around with yoru weapons and notice teh history and might read it.plus, if they made a game for the 18 year gap i would have to kill someone, because i am DIEING to see a whole new story in a drakengard 3, if one is ever made.

Personally, i think the game should centre around caim if its something like that. It would start off with Caim doing some basic missions as well as dragging manah along with him. Then, She'll escape and verdelet will betray him. After that, Caim will go around and gather up the previous party members (minus Seere) and attempt to take down Verdelet and the Knights of the Seal. This would not only explain what happened to Arioche and Leonard, but also what caim did during this time.

lol that works just as well. though, in-between games are ususally on hand-held systems (KH: chain of memories, Daxter) and depending on which console it went on i'm not sure one disc would be capable of holding two games in one.

but that is definitely a better alternative to having to buy 2 separate games.
