hi mnwelski i have tdi me too then the noise at the end was not a problem it's just the pulley get tight for the other (problem) i have no idea it's looks like a probleme of valve or something like that
the grinding noise is the starter, clutch dust builds up in there and doesn't allow it to release quick enough, mine did that for about 480,000 km before the starter died, i wouldn't worry about it.
happened to me as well.... U need to get air out of lines. So, make sure u fill the new filter all the way w/ fresh diesel fuel. Re-clamp all hoses. Next push clutch in and turn key all the way on and then all the way off for ten or more repetitions(or until the car starts) . Do that while pumping gas pedal. Sounds crazy but it works. I guess its a form of priming it. Good luck all.
Sounds like you need to prime it. Take off engine cover. Remove all black return line from diesel pump. Pull a vacuum on the pump side until you get diesel out. Hold the vacuum and start the car. The return side is the all black hose. Good luck!
Well, it started after replacing the fuel filter - I drove it for maybe 1km and then I lost power, it turned off and I had to pull over. Managed to start it up again by going at it for a while and giving it a bit gas - got back to my parking lot and it died at a slightest uphill so I had to push it into the spot. Then I took this video. Will be trying the tinyvac method of "airing it out".
on a diesels, fuel filter must filled up with fuel before instalation
