It's a funny thing, panther, I work in television all the time and I never yet heard of an artist telling the cameras what to shoot, that's always up to the producer and the director. Don't blame the brothers for what they have no control over, even if they ARE the "bandleaders" and the obvious focus of Alan's attention....
Just like the Kinman brothers to hog the camera, relegating Slim & Alejandro to the back.. Gee Chip, instead of complaining about Slash Records, maybe y'all could've grown up some and kept Al and Slim in the band and David Kahne behind the boards. Sad ... this band had great potential.
That was a good interview. I only heard about this band years ago when I was singing the Everlys' version to myself at work. A work buddy overheard me and we got talking and traded versions. My friend described the Ev's version as "sounded like a train" which I guess it kinda does. I love the Ev's version and I hope these guys got a big kick (and good money) from the Ev's doing it in '85.
Remember Madam Wong's West in LA. Rank and File played there. They were great!!! HEY ALAN HAYNES PLAYS IN AUSTIN today!!!!!

A surprisingly good interview for a late-night talk show.
