Gymnastics today is not good like it was then. Today the look has changed and I don't like the routines, the leotards, the bar routines are boring today. Beam is not as exciting. When Olga,Nadia,etc were around it was graceful,beautiful, spectacular. Now its just not attractive.

At the end, the commentator says that Teodora Ungureanu was next after Nadia, but she left the competition. ¿what happend?

The entire Romanian team was pulled from the competition ....ordered by Nicolai Ceaucescu...not sure if that's spelled right....because he didn't like a mark received by one of the gymnasts...not sure if it was Nadia or not....All this stuff came out after Nadia defected..the story at the time was that Nadia disqualified herself protesting a mark and the whole team walked out....That was NOT the case...life in communist Romania at the time!!! Very sad...Nadia would have walked away with all gold

@bradbra It was a controversy over Nadia and Nellie Kim's vaulting score's Initially, Nadia was the gold medalist in vault finals, then they changed Nellie Kim's score to tie with Nadia in the vault finals, they (the official's that is,came in, cheated Nadia) then switched Nadia's score all together, and gave the gold to Nellie Kim. Ask yourself, "Wouldn't anyone be pissed off over deliberate cheating"? It is sad that it was over the expense of the individual athlete's.Pitty,...... polotic's.

Critiquing her? its a gorgeous routine, thats the best she has ever done that dismount, i was merely pointing out the fact there were a few balance checks, i am not putting her down in anyway.

the romanians left because the president of romania at this time thought they were jujed unfairly during the competition so he ordered them to return to romania :( and nadia ofcaurse was suposed to take the gold in that beam but they left and the soviet gymnast Elena Mukhina took the gold instead

Yes I had heard that but I don't think that's what this video was referring to. After Nadia is awarded the ten, Teodora is supposed to go on the beam next and the comentator says she has left and then the video stops... so that's my question why didn't she go on the beam after Nadia?

Yes, it's true, they were actually waiting for Nadia to finish this exact beam routine! Teodora was crying and pleading with them to let her compete, Nadia was upset she could't stay to take her medal on beam and so on.
