Second, you obviously have no clue how insurance works. If your insurance covered this, that's not the end of it. Likely it would take a month or two before you see any money. After you finally receive a payout, your premium would most likely increase and your deductible as well. Are you sure you wouldn't care at all?

Actually lets give them a generous 2 hour time window. That would be $160 in time lost and lets add $500 for the time of the tow truck. NYC laws may differ, here in michigan you can park on the side of the road unless its marked otherwise. and if you damage someones car that is parked then you are fully responsible.

a drunk guy totaled my car parked and the insurance paid me more for the car than i spent. since he ran he probably spent some time in jail.

Thats why front end loaders like that are not good for snow removal on tight streets. They don't steer for shit. I would not be yelling and cussing at them though. Just film it and get their info for insurance. And ask the wrecker driver why he didn't hook to the SUV first and drag it out of the way before first contact was made. Ive done that exact job for 6 years with a loader, the tow truck driver should have set up on the other side of him pulling him away from the vehicle then the loader driver could have pushed himself out using the bucket...
