What is needed is sand at least 12 " deep in at least 200' long box. Not sand on top of blacktop. That would help to slow down the before the nets. They way they have it set up now does not work.
I cant beleive this day and age we cant develope a netting system that catches then gives and controls. They have a netting system for aircraft.. We are way too smart of a nation and world to have something like this happen. Where are the engineers???? RIP Mark
Maybe the NHRA should look into that the first saftey net should be a break away net, to slow the drivers down first, then the second net a lil stronger,
Wow that would be scary, im surprised that the NHRA hasnt come up with better systems to stop the cars...obviously the nets dont work for top fuel. RIP Mr. Niver
The people running NHRA are pathetic... just using censorship to gloss over the fact that this driver was killed due to they're lousy safety standards.
@word360 they have gotten better since this crash sad to see one so great have to die but the made things so the parachute will not come off or fail to open and they applied brakes 100 times better than they had before even though it is pretty hard to stop a car going 260 mph it shouldnt and hopefully wont happen again

Reupload this video because the nhra has been falsely using copyright violation to remove it.
