I agree, the bass in 'Are you Gonna Be My Girl' is a rip-off of 'Lust For Life' but you might want to compare 'Lust For Life' to 'Touch Me' by the Doors, Iggy stole the bass from them.
As for Day in The Life. FAIL. They have a very remote similarity but other than the vocal techniques used they have nothing in common.

60''s/ 70's rock is still the measuring stick for todays rock. Examples, Video games, Rock band, Guitar Hero, All the rip off bands, Jet, Wolfmother, Oasis, etc....If classic rock was old why are new generations still buying songs by bands that sound like the 60's, 70's. The 50's were inportantant, but not relavant to today's music. I believe musically (rock) we are in a period theat started in 1964 and has not ended yet.

I agree, the bass in 'Are you Gonna Be My Girl' is a rip-off of 'Lust For Life' but you might want to compare 'Lust For Life' to 'Touch Me' by the Doors, Iggy stole the bass from them.
As for Day in The Life. FAIL. They have a very remote similarity but other than the vocal techniques used they have nothing in common.

Fuck you. Jet is amazing and one of those bands reviving good music. Obviously Iggy Pop doesn't think that they ripped him off, because not only did he not sue them, he worked with them. If it's good enough for him, it's good enough for you. And as for the second one, they don't even sound alike other than the fact that both bands just used pitches instead of verses. I'm not familiar with Jet, but are they trying to pay homage to Iggy Pop and bands like the Beatles? "Imitation is a sincere form of flattery" or some saying like that. (Those aren't my own words. Personally, I would give credit to anyone I quoted or if I were a musician, give credit to whoever I sampled.)

Fuck all you idiots sure Led Zeppelin and the Beatles may have used inspirations to create music but at least they made their music origninal and made it their own, advancing it and everything. They created original chord progressions whereas Jet just completely ripped off a couple of songs, dumbed them down, and changed the singing melodies which are by the way so horrible that i cant even listen to JET. JET have plenty of original songs where the lyrics and sound are like no other song e.g Kings Horses. At least they sing real music which is something you don't see a lot of bands doing these days. I love JET and the main reason I love them is because their music is influenced by Beatles music because The Beatles are awesome and no band will ever come close to being as good as them.
