  • Thanks man. Never learnt so much before.. So hard to learn such stuff on the internet. Thanks man!!

  • thanks man i already fly 6 cannele heli and im 12

  • i was the 89,677 viewer

  • dave is very good tutor..

  • thanks dave..

  • Gold star tuition!!!!!

Just bought a 3 channel (2 foot long) eagle and now know why its hard to fly.....but i am hooked cant wait to get my hands on a 4 or 5 channel.......

    thanks

  • usually when some guy is cutting the grass with their helicopter, i dont even start my engine. just wait. you would not want one of those .51 sized helis chopping through your plane/heli and have a blade fly off in any direction. then you got no aircraft and owe somebody 1000 dollars.

  • I always thought the channel was how many helicopters from that brand could fly at the same time so yeah thanxs

  • Like this if u think that this video helped you

  • good advice mate, i started with a co-axial heli. and with a sim and practice, i bought a align trex 450s (no crashes) then a raptor 30 ( no crashes) and now im flying a 90 size heli (no Crashes) .

Listen to this guy, buy a sim and dont do anything with a 6 channel heli unless you've done it a 100 times on the sim. DONT be pressured into flying 3d by fellow flyers. If they want to see a heli do 3d then tell them to go and buy a heli and do it themselves. ( walk before you can run)

  • GREAT work man.. thanx alot

  • just have begon flying with a 4 chanel helicopter and thanks to the video i know much more about the chanel part :) thanks very much (Y)

  • Great video, extremely useful

  • I got a 3 channel helicopter lol, but I didnt want to buy an expensive one and crash it into the ground. I may buy a 4-5 channel later when I have an idea of how to fly =]

But now I know why I fly like crazy XD

  • i got my trex 500 from ALIGN yesterday,,and on opening the box i was really happy about the sense of quality of every single part of this helicopter,,so align earns and dominates ,,but also give value for the money ,unlike some chinese copy producents who ripped me off last year with a too high prize for some junk copter ,,looks ,dont make it a T-rex,,precision and quality does

  • Thank you very much!

    Great tutorial!

  • I GOT SIMULATOR, BUT COMPUTER CRASHED

  • then how did you post that comment?

  • HI! I'm trying to buy a 4 CH helicopter for outdoors flying, stable, but the options are too many. Can you recommend a good one? My budget is $100

  • @elandresito Check out the E-Flite Blade CX or SR. the Co-Axials are alot more stable, but the Single- Rotors are alot more aerobatic. also you should check out the Big Llama (i think) 2.4 gigahertz version if your looking at Co-Axial, and if your looking at single rotor then get the Exceed RC Falcon 40

  • dommage car je ne comprends pas l'Anglais

  • @MrYummy35 yu sud have went to a hobby store better quality

  • did he say i hope that was helpless

  • Is 3D the same as a 3-Ch helicopter?

  • can someone tell me where pt7 is, anyways thankyou dave for the good info!

  • besides Dave you are wrong about 3 ch helis. they are easy to fly. takes a couple of days and ur flying them good

  • yo! i have a 3 channel heli and it flies great! It is perfect for crusing around the room. If you have more skills on theese you can fly trough the dors or narow hallways. P.S. its caled the 735 set

  • best tuition ever on what the channels do etc

  • thanks , very helpful and comprehensive begginer guide. u rule. 5/5

  • Hey! I have a 3 channel!

  • im sorry dave powers, i love your vids and everything, but i just got the new metal gyro usb 3-ch mini heli and i have full control of it..... it has its own gyro and accelometer, and its metal, it flys Perfect... lol

  • i have the first heli

  • 2:35 HAHA drive a car with the elbows....great!!!^^

    greetz from germany

  • have u heard of the airflow 9057, what is your opinion on it? can you recommend me any good 3ch rc helicopter like an alloy?

    thanks!

  • Hey my mini rc heli juz dropped and only 1 rotor is left spinning instead of 2! any1 help pls?

  • brushed motor burned out, replace motor with new one, was it Walkera?

  • 2ch = good for crashing hehe

  • ich habe den selben aber es giebt keine eratzteile kann mir jeman helfen

  • got a 4 channel helicopter I believ.. and LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES!! You HAVE to play that damn simulator =) I thought "what the heck.. In every game ive ever tried I fly helicopters like a dream.. and I understand all the physics behind why it moves like it does" DOH!! Crashed it 3 times and ended up going to buy parts for it for alot of money.. and the worst thing is.. I gave up.. Its just standing there now.. But now Im flying the sim and I almost feel rdy to try again

  • that one doesnt have the roter pitch thing it uses the fan

  • why do some copters have the yaw roter not in a intersecting 90 degry angle and are like intersecting at a 45 if you know

  • wow very cool, thanks for the info, my brother just got a basic 3 channel one and it was fun as, and i though i'd do some research before buying one myself.

  • how much is a 4 channel heli?

  • I say buy up all of the pdf plans befor he either goes out of bisness or if we all buy them then he will get more $ so he can make videos and more airplanes

  • Comment removed

  • very helpfull thank u

  • hello

  • i can't post here have trouble - have you seen helicopter how to videos at MikeysRC website? cool

  • I'm subscribing you explained it perfectly

  • hello

  • cool :D

  • me too lol

  • ;P:D

  • what means axial 3D??

  • PIERDOLICIE GŁUPOTY

  • go isotopes! haha love the shirt!

  • I've had a Blade cp pro for a year now and its still flying!

  • i got that helicopter but its annoying it keeps spinning around!!!!

  • adjust the trim

  • im starting off with a channel 6!!!

  • same. i'm willing to take on a challenge.

  • mine came in the mail to day

  • why do you alway say "hope that was helpLESS" ??

  • How much do you guys sell the REALFLIGHT 4.5 sim ??

  • linky link... i love it!!! 5/5

  • Dave, you rule!!!! 100% !!! Hobby guys are so lame about explaining the way things work, but not you. I have learned more from watching your playlists than I have in the past few years. Don't listen to any of these recent criticisms. I just wanted to say I really appreciate these videos. I plan on purchasing from your sponsors and purchasing your ebook. YOU RULE!!!!

  • well you can choose thejr products or not. don't forget the amount and quality of infos these guys give for free and at the same time you can have a laugh with some strange experiments they did. :)

  • did you forget to mention that most chineese manuals are mode 4 and most americans fly mode 2.??? i hate tyhat shit ,, cuase i started flying 4 channel mode 4 now i have to learn mode 2...

so tell people that , cause 3 chanel is more like mode 4 than mode 2...

  • its mode 1 and mode 2

  • like they say the co axial rotors cancel out the rotational torque that makes it hard to hover an conventional heli. to be honest the co axial rotors break esaier on the Esky Dauphin srry mate.

  • whos fred?

  • There are aleready idiots that have posted it on some of his vids. Now it won't be a joke!

  • i hope that was helpless?

  • i have a t rex 450 sa

  • You can tell you're fixed wing, but again the pseudo-science, LOVE IT, it gets the concept across in most cases.

If you're serious about learning heli, AVOID coaxial helis they WILL slow your progress!

Resilient fixed pitch 4 channel helis that explode & push back together are by far the best helis to learn on, plus many can be upgraded if you want 5+ channels later.

BTW if set up so it always moves forward, you can fly a 2 channel heli (non-coaxial) like a 2 channel plane .

  • thank u thank u thank u lol!!!!

  • fat nek

  • plz could u post a vid explaing me about the expensive gyro and the esc?

i just got my esky blet cp carbon edition and i need help...plz expailn me how to use it.i try to fly it and i crash it very bad...plz post that f*****g vid

  • lol u can fly a 3 ch i have 1 its great

  • on the 2 channel heli u can put a wieght on the front and then u can steer thats what i did

  • those are CONTRA-rotating blades Dave

  • Pretty common confusion. Counter-rotating refers to props like on a P38 that rotate in opposite direction. Contra-rotating refers to stacked, props like on a Russian Bear bomber. Helicopters like this are also called "coaxial". I think all terms have legitimate usage since they imply a counter-action of the props. Purists would disagree.

  • dave i have a heli it can go up and down it can twist it have pitch

is a little light at the front a channel?

(i can turn it on and off at the remote)

  • i doupt it channels are movements... but it might be idk

  • i think he would know. he is a master at rc

  • Just one thing the chanels are different in Australia, where we fly a different mode, but still very useful

  • I wish someone explained this stuff your way, years ago. Nice job!

  • love it. informative as usual.

  • Love it more, more, more we want more!!!

  • Excellent Video, keep them coming

  • hope that was helpliss lol

  • Hey Dave great video! finally I understand about flying upside down LOL.

One extra thing for the beginners I 100% recommend a set of stabilisers! this will stop most of the crashes and gives you a real stable heli to learn with. I used Honey Bee stabilisers with my Co-Comanche and they were the most vital thing I bought! saves a whole lot of money in the beginning. I have posted a video response showing mine. Thanks Dave. Mike

  • Next week could you talk a little about how to figure out what brushless moter to use to replace your brushed motor. I have a 550 can and cant figure out what to buy

  • can u do a 6 ch because what dos it do

  • great advice

  • um Dave i think help less is not helpful and it is helpful is to be helping

  • oops dave, you don´t need a tailrotor because of "the air grabbing the blades". even without any air you would have the same problem which is caused by torque. only problem is, that without any air the tailrotor wouldn´t work.

  • You're right, but the effect wuld be quite small. The mass of the rotor is much less than the mass of the fuselage. It's like the recoil of rifels. The havier the rifel the less the recoil you can feel.

The air boosts this effect up a lot.

Nice vid, Dave. I like all of your videos quite much.

  • DA40Star: When you apply collective, there is increased drag trying to slow the blades down, requiring more power from the motor, creating more torque, but that's different. It's why tip jet helis and autogyros have the same rotor controls yet require no tail rotor. The air isn't causing the torque, strictly speaking.

And the blades may not weigh as much, but they are wide. Find a 20ft pole that you can lift with your pinkie and try to rotate it fast. Basic physics.

  • I think you would be surprised at how much torque rotation you get from a heli with the blade removed!

  • with out the air there will be much less though becasue there is no drag caused by the air.

  • Damn his 5 channel looks awesome. I want a 5 channel :P

  • is there a way i can buy 1 in england off ur website?

P.S nice top springfeild isotopes lol

  • I need one with more controls. I got the two control one. Makes me mad.lol But I am thinking why not just get a plane. Awesome video though. God bless you and your family.

  • learnin on a plane is easier n cheaper i think :P

  • great video dave! thanks

  • i got a 3 channel i want a 4 now sounds awesome

  • great informative video there dave, i likey like.

i was always wondering what u could do with the 5th and 6th channel on >4 channel helis!

  • Very good! I think a lot of beginners will benefit from this video and I'll be linking it from the forums quite often. You answer a lot of the FAQs in this one. Thanks for posting this, now I don't have to do it :)

  • I'm glad that if I need help on something Youtube always shows me how to do it. haha I never knew so many people were so informative!

  • lol it gose up and down and crashes into the wall lol good videos dude u know ur info thanx for the help

  • nice video dave. I likey.

  • next week do the 300s flat out powersorce.

  • oh verrry nice

  • "on yo controla..." lol

  • I found the cutting of the video a bit harsh this time. Just get some more time (>1 sec) between Dave's words.

  • There is a 4-ch Coax AH-64 that looks alot tlike the one you got there, Dave, but it uses the same control scheme as the Dauphin, yet seems to be made of old tires. It is FAR tougher than the Dauphin, and the battery clip is better, too.

I hate the battery clip on the Dauphin.

  • The catch phrase is, "loopde loop".

  • I own a 4 channel thats $200....

    It svery common

    the blade cx2

  • i have the blade cx

    its older

  • great vid, you rock dave ;)

  • at 10:15 you said i hope that was helpless.

  • He says that every week.

  • he says that every time if you watch his videos

  • ''TheGospelGuitarist

You NEED a shirt for "Don't Crashy Crash!" ''

    I agree!

  • Clicky Click , lawl....

  • Oh veerrrrrry nice

  • haha li-po "safety" you say it like you're not safe with your li-po batteries ;) great video as always. just a note for anyone reading this, I've seen some companies advertise their Helios as 4CH when their actually 2CH. like they think up is 1 down is 2 left is 3 and right is 4 so pay close attention to that and don't get tricked.

  • You NEED a shirt for "Don't Crashy Crash!"

  • awsome video just got all my query solved about heli

    thaxs

  • I thought that Apache was a 3ch. Mine has a propeller in the tail just like that one and I can control pitch with it.

  • Great show Dave! Wish I'd seen this a couple of years ago before I bought a 2-channel heli that I crashed the first time I got it up and broke it! LOL This was back when they were quite big and still expensive too. RCPowers rocks, you're really getting some great needed info out there for a hobby that's taking off! No pun intended. ;-)

  • Dave always says "helpless" its a trademark of his videos!!

Good info dave! Its nice to see some heli stuff on here.

    -Thecool1

  • great stuff dave! love how you break things down. keep it up

    scott

  • lol at 10:17 he said "i hope that was helpless" instead of helpful

  • Your site acts weird on my compy :(

Deep links display the main page for reasons that escape me.

Ah well, your youTube presence will have to do.

  • it does that to me to...

  • I have the same helicopter lol but with 4 channels

  • Good Stuff, Dave !!!!!

  • i'm not that much of a beginner but i still love watching your beginner shows. once and a while i catch a new trick here and there.

    keep up the great work

  • hay dave so far this is a really awsome video i have been flying trex 450 se v2 for some time and u have done your homework about them also i liked how you explaind the pitch for the helicopters and how there are able to fly upside down i have tryed explaine this to so many ppl and there never undersstude how it actully works but ill be sending them to this video

    5 star video

  • Great video as always Dave, look forward to next weeks video,5*

  • btw , for the people that have flown coaxials and want to get into 6ch heli's , i would recommend buying a kit that you have to build , as dave said ,everyone crashes , it's not if , but when. If you have build your heli , you know what parts go where , how it needs to be repaired. If you buy a big rtf heli , you crash , you buy parts , but you have no experience with how to actually repair and setup the heli again.(yes , i'm speaking from experience :( )

  • Great info!

    RCcanuck

  • i buy a Honey Bee Mk 3

  • nice

  • Dave I recommend you put a blade cx2 it is the best. please.

  • awesone~!!!! i love your viedos

  • thank you for explaining it now i know just enough about helicopters

  • this video was a blessing, I nearly bought a 3 channel tonight, but due to this I am going with the 4 channel. Thanks for explaining it so clearly for us new/dumb people.

  • oh thanks dave, you have broken my boardom yet again!

    Thanks!

  • Hey Dave, what's up with this time's quality? Quite poor :(

  • Oh dear, not regarding the CONTENT quality (excellent as usual!!!) - I've meant the VIDEO QUALITY itself, dudes...

  • nice video ;)

  • Nice video hahaaaa I am a third

  • another great video!!!!

    five stars!

  • w00t im number 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
