Twenty-five lbs seems just about right for the hike. Can I suggest you ween yourself from carrying those bigger knives. One small kife for backpacking, if that's all your doing, is more than sufficient for cutting material, thread, or opening packaging. Excellent video on the gear taken. These are the best kind of gear videos, on trail, or just after like this, not the ones before the trip. Gives us a better idea of what you actually went with. Thanks. I am enjoying your videos.
@rainbowhiker Thank You....well my first attempt at the devils path I had a 50 pound pack.....very foolish but learned my lesson. 25 pounds with water/food and knife... we needed some way to split wood, it had rained just before our hike. The spec plus is a 6 inch knife...pretty light but I cant give it up just yet!
Man I love checking out gear, great vid. I always learn from these vids to make better choices on gear selection and what is out there to buy, Good vid.
@CampfireTalk Thank you Campy, great minds think alike...and watch other you tubers such as NF, USDOC, Wawhiker ect... ect!!, Hey that snow peak titanium is the best stove, glad you reviewed it!
Awesome gear synapse. Thanks for sharing. I always fin it interesting to see and hear what other people are carrying out there. Nice trail pics too. Happy Trails!
Thanks for the info man it helped a lot. Definitely not packing my backpack to 80 pounds again lol. i had to conjure up some walking sticks to help me back down.
my ten pound walmart tent isnt helping either.
This gave me a good idea of how to pack and also time for new lighter gear.
Some really nice footage there Matt... I'm looking forward to more video from the trip! Excellent setup you have there! I can't believe that you were able to keep your pack so light and still have the level of functionality and comfort that you do. Boils down to experience and wise choices... both of which are very evident here. Thanks for sharing this Brother... I always love to see what my friends are carrying so that I'm able to improve my own gear. Best to ya!
@intenseangler Thank You, was able to keep the weight down because of the bivy tent, back pack and sleep system total weight was 6.5 pounds. Water was not an issue as well. Had tons of help from the you tube hiking community Wawhiker, TNP, Cocket, Camp Fire, USNERDOC ...many more as well
@TheAZexplorer the trail is awesome. did it years ago with a group of friends when i was in my prime. first hike and camp for me. amazing views. the lean-to is pretty cool too. lots of hikers were there relaxing with everyone.
@TheAZexplorer haha and that's about it. This trail has a few good overlooks and that's it. Devils Path is not known for its scenery. Compared to any hike out west, forget it!
Very informative and helpful! Thankyou!

Nice and light gear, isn't the UL stuff amazing? Thanks & greetings, Tim
PS: Devils Path ... but hey, I thought the most challenging path was the "DuctTape Walk of Death" that you did with Sepp, hehe!
