  • I'm using this pc now. I upgrade my ram to 3gb, and hard drive to 200gb, with windows 7 pro 32bit. I have the turion 64 2ghz, is the turion 64 x2 upgrade worth it, along with 4gb ram, and ssd? I have money.

  • @BSUTechShow I think so.

  • @Dell0304 Okay might as well upgrade it. Mine is also running mac osx leopard too, wifi works along with audio. I love this laptop lol. I got a system with an i7 870 16gb ram 1tb hdd gtx550ti 1gb ect, and an alienware laptop with a i7 2670qm 4gb ram 500gb hdd gtx555 3gb

  • How did you tighten the hinges?

  • @lancerooke Didn't I say in the video? anywaym there's a great video about it by clubcar98 about how to do it. Pretty much the same laptop.

  • i am using this pc right now, it sucks!!!

  • Thanks for for making these videos. The hinges on my Dell gave out over a year ago, and I ordered replacements from eBay, but two things kept me from doing the repair: (1) The new hinges were extremely stiff and hard to turn, and (2) after I disassembled my laptop to remove the old hinges, I found out that the hinges were intact--but they'd broken away from the screen assembly. So I thought "Oh, to hell with it" and left it broken. Thanks for getting me started on repairs, it's fixed now.

  • @dianafuse You are very welcome. Always like to help out.

  • @Dell0304 I think I'll look into Compguy208's processor upgrade, next. But in the meantime it's great to have the screen fold up and down normally again. A laptop ain't much of a laptop if you can't fold it up! :P

  • @dianafuse Cool, and very true.

  • Is there a tutorial for removing tightning the hinges..?

  • @amirblumenfelds1 I don't have one, but it's easy to do.

  • im a windows 7 guy but used windows xp most of my life cause it was 2006,2007,2008,early-mid 2009 my computers had xp running on them in late 2009

-to early 2010 i had a computer with windows 7 beta (upgraded from xp) and um yeah excludeing the unbuntu computer

  • i like windows 7 cause its fancy looking bar and its newer and im useing dads acer aspire 1 netbook that came with windows 7 starter

  • Nice. I have the same laptop, it also had the sempron processor and everything. It's really easy to drop in an Athlon 64 X2, I picked one up on eBay in December last year for about $50. I highly recommended it, as well as the ram upgrade that you already mentioned.

  • @compguy248 is the 64 x2 dual core or something? because $50 is alot for a CPU. i could get an Intel for half that.

  • @Dell0304 It's dual core and 64bit. The sempron is 32bit and single core. Also, this laptop does not support any Intel CPUs, only AMD.

  • @compguy248 oh ok. thanks

  • dude, i found a way to get aero on home basic. it's a program, i will test it out and if it works i will make a video.

  • @cugocat12 yes, please do that. i have the Vista Standard style on right now, its Aero without glass and transparency and all that.

  • @Dell0304 OK, I just have to install Home Basic first, it should be up later today.

  • @cugocat12 let me know when it is.

  • Funnily enough, Windows 7 is actually Windows 6.1. Windows Vista is version 6.0. So windows 7 is vista upgraded. I still prefer 7 though.

  • how much was this laptop

  • @Iocoy i paid $80 because of a trade in. worth about $400 in my opinion.

  • @Dell0304 well,in practice, these laptop's value depend on the components. this is the sempron version, the base model. the top end model has an Athlon 64 X2. I'd say, this one is still worth 150-200 dollars.

  • so this is how you resolve your bordem ... you take it out on us :P :D

  • @SahLehron huh?

  • So Far, I'm almost done upgrading my netbook. I added 500GB Hard Disk Drive, maxed it out to 2GB. The next thing is to upgrade the network card to Wireless N, and add bluetooth on it

  • @yelnam2manley nice.

  • @Dell0304 How many slot are there for memory? I have the old 1GB from my netbook. If you want, I'll mail you my old one.

  • @yelnam2manley Two. thats okay, im getting a 2GB stick in like 3 weeks or less.

  • i thought this video was going to be about restoring the factory image from the recovery drive. but i was wrong...

  • @Jallge lol, not that kind of restore. i was gonna do that but the image was screwed i guess.

  • @Dell0304 that would be cool if you make it factory fresh, with all the annoying software and everything...

  • Nice video. At 4:42 just because a computer was designed for a specific OS doesn't mean you will get better performance. Windows 7 IS Windows Vista, but an improved version of it. My Dell Vostro 1000 never had problems with Windows 7 even though its designed for Windows Vista Basic. I will never downgrade back to Vista or XP.

Question: When this laptop came with Windows 7, did it come with an installation disc / restore disc?

  • @infinitypark003 Windows 7 is much more different than Vista than what you people think. Only the look of it is kinda the same.

  • @infinitypark003 doesnt matter, i like the OS it was designed for to be on it.

  • @infinitypark003 also, no disks.
