Material I used on this schnellboot is 1/4" baltic birch plywood for the bulk heads and 1/8" by 3/8" straight grain spruce. Douglas fur would also work fine for planking.
This is a plank on frame hull. Once hull is completely planked, it receives fiberglass cloth on the inside and 5 coats of fiberglass resin on the outside of the hull.
