Not exactly South Point at its best - get it on the right day with a 3 - 4 metre swell and it can be magic - not real hollow, but long, long walling lefts that seem to go on forever. At this size it's pretty average, but pump up the swell a bit and it's just so much fun, without being life-threatening like North Point - rule one of surfing - know your limitations :)
@clarkewi It's in the SW of Western Australia, at Gracetown. About 15 km north of Margaret River main break, and there are many great surf spots close by. Best thing about South Point is it is just about the only spot around the Margaret River area which is surfable when there are strong south-westerly breezes - and you get a lot of those down there. The Point protects it from the wind, so when the SW comes up it can get crowded. Def a fun wave but it needs a big swell; <2metres -meh!
@childsplaymusic Why dont you just tell the whole world about how amazing it is so that everyone comes and crowds up the whole south west more than it already it you idiot!
@jevans6775 Do you really think that this is some sort of secret spot? You know, known only to a chosen few, you have to slog through waist-deep swamps and battle jaguars before finally coming to a pristine beach of silver sand a thousand miles from the nearest civilisation? It's South Point - it's on every map of the southwest of WA. Drive into Gracetown and there it is, staring you in the face. Sheesh!
