I bought GTA IV through normal retail channels, and EFLC through Steam. The Steam version is fine and just as easy to mod.

Well, I can't play GTA IV at the moment. Since I updated my graphics drivers it runs horribly and I can't figure out why. I'm going to upgrade to Windows 7 in the future, so I'll resume troubleshooting the problem then (since running a clean Windows install will help eliminate software as the cause of the problems).

In the meantime I'll probably upload videos of other games, though.

Man, that sucks. Don't feel too bad, though, the trophies in GTA IV are pretty meaningless. The only game I've played in recent memory that has an interesting implementation of the achievement concept is STALKER: Call of Pripyat. In that game, attaining an achievement actually changes the game conditions in some way. For example, if you earn the "A Wealthy Client" achievement, trader NPCs begin to offer a wider selection of equipment for sale.

How much do I play? Hmm. If my Xfire profile is to be believed, I've played GTA IV for only 11 hours, but that's inaccurate because I don't usually have that running while playing single player games. If I were to make an estimate... perhaps 80 hours.

I don't remember what settings I was using when this was recorded, but the settings I use now are:

Resolution: 1600x1200 (75hz)

Texture detail: Medium

View distance: 40

Detail distance 75

Everything else is on high or very high, except for the dynamic shadows which are turned off, simply because I don't like them much. >_>

Because:

A: I don't have such a controller.

B: I don't have any wish to get one either, because a keyboard and mouse setup is perfect for the combat in a third person action game like this, and driving with the keyboard suits me fine too because GTA IV's car handling is, in stark contrast the earlier games, very smooth - making it easy to drive with the keyboard.

Firstly, whats the best way to destroy a car with bullets like at 0:40, and secondly; how did you down a chopper with two snipes? Where do you shoot at?

First question: Aim for the gas tank, which is usually in the lower rear quarter of the car.

Second question: I hit and killed the pilot. That's the only way.

The car handling in GTA IV is quite a bit smoother (less twitchy) than in the older games, which makes it easier to drive with a keyboard.

I'm pretty pleased with the movement and combat controls overall, but Niko sort of gets confused if you move the camera too much while trying to turn him around to face the other way, and turns around twice.

The helicopter controls are an improvement over GTA SA, they're a lot smoother, but there's still room for improvement.

You can find them hidden all over the place, you should find a map of hidden weapon locations on the net somewhere, I don't remember them all.

I do remember you can find a Glock at the far end of the abandoned go-kart track near the Hove Beach safehouse. Also check the fenced off yard across the road from Michelle's house, there's a Glock in there somewhere.
