  • Great song and great band. The audio is terrible! I'm disappointed.

  • Magic............................

  • I miss Oingo Boingo alot still, but Im glad the coverband Deadmans Party is still going on. Wish they would reform Oingo Boingo with Rob from Deadmans Party to give Oingo Boingo Fans to see

  • Oingo Boingo was an awesome band!

  • Danny Elfman: THE KING OF FUCKING EVERYTHING.

  • Danny Elfman: The King of Halloween.

  • Some people think "Dark at the End of the Tunnel" wasn't one of Boingo's best albums, but it's one of my favorites. And this song is why.

  • nice!

  • What an awesome performance... Steve's solo is mind blowing. It's a pleasure to watch Elfman here.

  • Can someone tell me what the concert was that Danny did a backflip in?

And the magazine that did a cover story on him?

  • which song would you recommend me to dedicate to a woman who i like a lot? from oingo boingo of course!!!

  • capitalism being much too hard to find ... I'd say no one lives forever , now I'm so happy...quit complainin brother

  • How about Flesh N' Blood or We Close Our Eyes? Oh.... and if she has a sense of humor, there's always Wild Sex and Little Girls, haha.

  • hehe thanx, but now that girl has trown me away.... so... i'm looking for some one else hehehe thanx anyway

  • "We close our eyes" is everything you could want in an Oingo Boing "Love Song"; melodic, catchy, a little dark (so is love) lol...

  • i was thinking about that one, but what the heck... this year is almost over and I had no girl in which i can spend some time at xmas but there is always the family... hehe not the same but might work.... thanx! and yes it is a little dark as love hehe

  • snds like jack skeleton... oh well... may it's just Me...

  • He sung Jack Skellington's voice for the film.

  • jack had no echos... though jack's cousin, mayb... skeleton, skellington, wish they would stop feuding & get along.

  • This kind of music is what made me so different, and I love Elfman for that. I first heard this music as a child, and it's shaped me into something great. Such good tasteful music. So much essence!

  • That's a beautiful thing man!

  • That's a beautiful man thing!

  • Danny is The God Of Sex! I have to agree with everyone on this!

What I wouldn't give to have one night with him. Mmmm.

  • @emmyflu we could share? lmao...

  • He looks like he's, well...

  • I wish this song was on the farewell video

  • Danny is The God Of Sex! There's no denying it!

  • all i can say is: why am i attracted to these kinds of men~!? (not to mention most of them are 30 years older than me...) im so confused T.T

  • Don't worry, dear--I'm convinced that Danny Elfman and Jeremy Irons are two of the sexiest men on the planet. One of them is 30+ years older than me, the other 40+.

    o.o

  • You and me both! Jeremy Irons has one of the coolest voices in cinematic history. And as for Danny... It almost defies logic how one pale, crazy little redhead could have so many female fans that have totally lost their minds over him. But I wouldn't have it any other way!

  • Because Danny is pure sex. Don't try to resist him, you'll only hurt yourself.

  • I.. love that.

  • 2:56 *giggles, blushes* Best performance of Skin ever. I am not even exaggerating.

  • YES. You called it. Danny gives me weird feelings I don't know how to deal with.

  • Lol, he drives me CAH-RAZY! But I love it, haha.

  • Amo demais esta musica.È uma pena que a banda não exista mais.

  • probably my absolute favorite Boingo song. Love the lyrics.

  • I don't know WHAT the hell that man is doing to that microphone, but I like it. It should have been me in its place.

  • I was actually wondering exactly the same thing. I don't think it's even SUPPOSED to be REMOTELY sexy but damn, he's so hot he makes it so ^^

  • best

    best

    best

  • So I was looking to find a song that speaks to how I am feeling right now, and I found it. Thank you Oingo Boingo! (Of course, there was no video on youtube for Apparition by No Use for a Name... oh well)

  • *shivers*

  • I can only say one thing Steve and that solo, so damn AWESOME!!!

  • I love the look Danny gets when he thinks about chocolate and peanut butter

  • Lol, I love the look Danny gives the other band members when they have that false start.

  • Do you have any more songs from this concert besides this and "Helpless"? If so, please, please post them!

  • Just a great fucking song.

    Thanks for posting it.

  • Not Danny's best live vocal, but definitely worth watching! thanks for posting.

  • Why must Danny always make me jealous of such objects as microphones and rubber-frickin'-ducks?

  • Girl, I so am with you on that . . . *_*

  • Comment removed

  • Halloween and Boingo; like peas and carrots.

  • Comment removed

  • "Chocolate and peanut butter"? I'm unsure of the context in which this is used. The only thing I can assume is that it's what you'd like to cover Danny Elfman in, and if you do, I can assure you that I sympathize.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh dear, the "chocolate and peanut butter" thing wasn't about that at all. Shit. Now I look like I just have a dirty mind, lol.

  • Lol...um, if anyone happened to read some of your other comments you've made about what you would like to do to Danny, they probably already think that. ;)

  • Really, now! I would merely like to ask for his autograph and thanks him for the many years of fine music. All that talk about jumping him onstage...jumping him backstage, and uh, his "stimulus package" must have been made by some pervert hacking into my account.

  • Yeah, sure, uh huh, I believe you... *cough not!

  • god DAMN IT i wish I saw this band

  • Dear god, that SOLO!! Steve definitely is capable of so much guitar-wise, if only they allowed him more opportunities to play the shit out of that thing!

Songs from that album sound soooo good live.

  • his solos are really unique

  • This is amazing, thank you! Has anyone figured out what show this is from/how to get it? I've only seen the stuff from URGH! and Farewell. Oingo Boingo just has so much more ENERGY live. I'd love to see more.

  • This is from Irvine 10/27/93. The video is from the feed to the large screen at the venue. There are a lot of Boingo videos like this one floating around. Try the message boards at Bartek's site.

  • I was at a concert where Danny was hit in the face with a shoe thrown from th e audience. Does anyone recall what concert it was? I have seen boingo so many times, I can't remember them all. Was it around '88 or '89? If someone has video of it, that would be an awesome post! LOVE OINGO BOINGO!!

  • Dead Man's Party show at the Hollywood Palladium was my first conert ever. My cool cousin took me and we drank California Wine Coolers before the show (my first buzz too). Saw Boingo at least 10 times after that. I miss them more than all the rest. Does anyone have video/audio from the Palladium set?? To help ID it, he closed with Rawhide...

  • Brings back memories....Love em!

  • I completely agree with you on the arms, missmisery. He looks like he could rip a paperback textbook in half with those guns. So manly... so hot....

  • Definitely one of my all-time favorite Boingo songs.

    <3

  • Jesus I feel old now to all your post. But I have seen almost EVERY single show they put on from the Dead man's party album. Shows from the Palladium to the old Irvine Meadows(Now Verizon). Just about Every Halloween show! Boy am I glad I was Old enough. Sorry kids;) You did miss out on one of...no scratch that the best Concerts I have EVER been to.

  • Irvine Meadows rocked. They would occasionally play Pacific Amphitheater too. I loved living in OC in the 80's. And you're right drvyris - the best concerts, ever. Great time to be a teenager! :)

  • Oh lord look at those arms. It's not fair that they're continually wrapped around Bridget Fonda :'(

  • lol yeah! arent you happy though? he finally got married, HES happy and therefore it makes me happy, even tho i wish he was happy with me, grr!

  • Well now I feel like a real a-hole, hehe. Of course that's great, and I've always liked Bridget Fonda - but like you say, I wish he was happy with me. ;p

  • Not to be a 'correction nazi' here, but he was married years before to a retired ballet dancer-it was with her that he had his two daughters.

  • HOMINAHOMINA yes! That's a gun show I'd go to

  • ROFL "a gun show I'd go to"

  • the band played at my friends wedding reception - danny elfman in pasadena in the 90s

  • uh huh, suure.

  • Some people... just goes to show that there's a chronic epidemic of no musical taste.

  • Really? Who voted them thus??

Yeah in art class about a month a go we were playing music, each person got a choice, so I put on Oingo Boingo...totally got a lot of people pissed off, being all, what's this shit. >,> Then they put on rap. Oh I hate people.

  • @cracknaddicker:

you should have played little girls by oingo boingo to REALLY piss those fuckers off

  • XD Agreed!

  • i wish someone would post the album version.

  • awesome

  • More clips from this concert pleeeeeease??

  • What a fantastic song! The lyrics, so profound. A great time to be younger. pieces of me. Hey Wisconsin!!!

  • Bartek's solo is frikkin amazing. thx for the post

  • thats the year i was born. stupid fate made me born to late :(

i wish i was around in the 80s

  • I'm with you there. I was born in '90. The generation before us really doesn't realize just how lucky they were to live through the 70s and 80s; the only two decent decades in music, in my opinion.

  • I TOTALLY AGREE

  • I guess I'm a LITTLE lucky, being born in '85, but I was still too young to enjoy Boingo. Those in their teens and twenties during that wonderful decade are truly blessed.

  • I was born in '90 too.

I completely and totally agree with you.

Oingo Boingo is one of my favorite bands and I'm in love with music from the eighties.

    If only, if only :(

  • 'Best O' Boingo' is only the compilation. The original cd which contained this song is 1990's 'Dark at the End of the Tunnel'

  • "A spark has passed between us now, a momentary recognition." I love that line. Wow, Danny is singing the heck out of that song. He's so weird... but I'd be lying if I said I didn't love it.

  • I love that song so much!

great to see video of it - they didn't put it on the Farewell footage...

  • Sure do miss these shows. Thanks for posting.

  • So hot... and the song is too...

  • HA! I hear you.

  • I made a T-shirt with a black and white photo of Danny on it from this show.. pretty awsome.

  • oh! I would like to se that T-shirt! <3

  • You know when you go to an arena show and they have a big screen to show what's going on to the people who are far, far away? Well, this is a recording of the live video being broadcast on the jumbotron with board audio. Somebody threw a tape in and recorded it, either an employee of the venue or someone in the band crew. Every show played at a big venue could've been recorded like this! Danny is a quality control freak, he won't even release the rarities, let alone anything like this!

  • It's a great recording even if it is of a screen!!

  • Thrilling enough to hear live, but to actually SEE it..is amazing. Thanks so much to the person who posted this video.

  • One Of The Best Live Clips Boingo Ever Put Out.Danny's Vocal Are Intense And Steve's Guitars Are Nothing Short Of Electricfing

  • That was beautiful. I love their Dark at the End of the Tunnel stuff. Alas, I never got to see them in concert.

  • sad to read that...you would have had a great time

  • I love this song so much. Glad I could find some recording of it. Thanks!

  • I think it's on the Best O' Boingo cd, if you're looking for the song itself!

  • was this at the univeral ampitheate??? I was totally there or wait i may have been there in 92

  • It doesn't matter how many times I watch this -- it's still one of the most electifying music videos ever.

  • pra mim a melhor musica...

  • Great performance.

  • Boingo is so fantastic, and Skin is probably my favorite song of theirs. He's passionate and such a performer.

From personal experience, it's almost impossible to hear yourself in the monitors when the drums and bass are there, so it's hard to stay perfect, even as a trained and experienced vocalist.

  • with passion like that, miniscule booboos are par for the course. what a fantastic voice.

  • Have you tried singing live with a band on stage and not hear yourself? You will have to watch the guitarist or something to know where you are. I know how it is.

  • seriously song's in my top 5 and steve's solo is amazing, i miss boingo, i was to little to see them when they were still around. now all i get is the tribute...

  • This is one of my favorite Boingo songs...but it pisses me off that the band is drowning Danny out.

  • Because there is time code on the track its from a master and the mix is board not mixed after in a studio be very lucky we can even see it, my question is does anyone have the entire concert?

  • he didn't mess up, how do you know it wasn't intentional? yeah, ever think about that?

  • Probably my favorite singer of all time. steve bartek is awesome too. I don't like to think of the bits that are out of tune as mistakes. He's just... relaxed. Would the replacements be as fondly remembered if every show was note for note perfect?

  • Oh I know, I was responding to diznave's comment, but you are right!

  • More.

  • i have this concert its amazing

  • could he be more sexy...

  • That guitar solo by Bartek in the middle is fantastic! Please post more parts of this concert!

  • I remember seeing Boingo at Red Rocks in 1989 with the Red Hot Chili Peppers opening (just after Mothers Milk). Elfman pulled "aint this the life" off as the final encore, and couldnt remember the lyrics, had to grab a notebook with them. great show, great day

  • That's awesome, even the greatest make mistakes! It's kinda ironic, seeing as he wrote the song, lol.

  • Shit, I don't remember half the papers I wrote for college this semester.

  • I am so incredibly jealous! I never got to see them live and that would have been an orgasmic show, simply to see boingo, and at red rocks!...never knew they opened for the chili peppers either...interesting.

  • Holy cow, I was at that show too! It was awesome. I have never been to a better show. I loved how after the Chilis were done half the crowd left and everyone got to move down towards the stage.

  • Sorry.I eant ONE of their best album.

  • Absolutely Awesome....that's all I have to say on the subject.Dark At The End is their best album and Skin is the second best song on the album.

  • Me must get full concert.

  • I love Boingo, and this is not a bad video, but I have to say: Though some parts of it are great, he is out of tune on several notes. Maybe it's because his voice was shot at this point in the show. Well, no one's perfect

  • Maybe because if you've ever been on stage before and sang with a band, unless the sound in the monitors are right, it's really hard to hear yourself. And it's easy to sing out of tune when you can't hear what you're singing.

  • Funnny- I thought I replied to this some time ago. Well, what I thought I had posted (maybe it was a dream) was something like this:

You make a very good point, StephWTF. I didn't mean any offense, anyway. I guess I'm just a natural critic. (I know why I drink too much.;-))

    Love to the Danny!

  • I guess the lyric is actually, "...drink SO much." See, I messed up too! ;-D

  • Sounded fine to me!!

  • You know what? I just went and watched/listened to this video again... and this time I didn't hear whatever notes I had previously thought were out of tune! I don't get it. I think maybe I'm insane. LOL. Oh well. Now I wish I'd never posted what I did initially.

  • So, is this concert on DVD?

Also, fans, go see the Johnny Vatos Halloween Band featuring former members of Oingo Boingo at The Greek or The Grove on 20 and 21 October, respectively. Yeah! Rock and roll!

  • Now that's passion...

  • Fantastic version of Skin

  • jedilord, i envy you so much! i will never ever go to a concert of theirs. care to spare one of yours memories? you DO have 14!

  • My favorite band of all time. i saw them about 14 times live over the span of many years, many Halloween concerts.

  • youtube works like a time machine for me. thanks for putting everything oingo boingo online.

  • one of my favorite oingo boingo songs. wanted to see this performed live! thanks.

  • I would LOVE to see this whole concert. Is it on DVD?

  • i want to be that microphone :0

  • GAR C S

  • Finally. Another Boingo song that sounds better live. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!

  • One fine sexy performance.

I'm jealous. Yeah of the microphone but also that the guitar solo by Bartek wasn't released in the album recording. They always do stuff like that. Oh well.

  • Great song indeed, and from such a good album, too. Like this performance of it as well, would love to see more stuff from this show someday. While waiting for that to happen, however...*Joins others in envy of microphone*. That's another plus of this video-man, Danny looks good in this clip...

  • Thank you for this. Great song.

  • seems like he's forgotten the lyrics...

  • Excellent, excellent! Thank you SO much for this!! More!

  • I love this song. I love all Boingo songs.

Lol, zabetta, I wish I were that microphone....

  • This is incredible! I've also wondered how this song would sound performed live. I think I actually like the live version better - the guitar in the background has so much more presence than the percussion in the studio version. Thank you so much for uploading this!! It's a joy to both listen and watch. Makes me wish I had been able to see Boingo live in concert!

  • This is awesome! Looks like Danny is making love to that microphone... That's one lucky inanimate object.. *sigh* <3

  • THANK YOU!!! I have been wondering if any live footage of this song was ever done. This is my favorite Boingo song and it is a masterpiece! I am glad I found your post! :)
