Yuo are correct it was Janis who did the cover. Kris K. wrote it and Waylen Jennings and Willie Nelson and Johney Cash that I know of did it before her:)
Me and Bobby Mcgee was written by Kris Kristofferson and if I'm not mistaken was performed by Roger Miller as well as Johnny Cash before Joplin. I do like Joplin's version the best!
