@Geared10k L or R checks things and talks to people. i could never get used to it on an emulator, so i always used the menu.

y'know, i'm glad you talk to the people in the town and read the signs and such. most earthbound LPers ignore that, and it's such a great part of the game, especially since itoi is so weird and wrote most of the dialog himself. so thanks, nintendocaprisun! you just made my day that much brighter. ^.^

it is stupid to say ROMs are illegal because they are so many people that use ROMs

there is no way to enforce that it is illegal. and ROMs are free, making phyiscal copys and sell them is illegal. Rom's are not phyiscal copy's they are digital copy. ROM are mostly old games more then 10 years old.

Why buy a DS and Chrono Trigger, when you can just get a Rom of it for free? Personally, I never thought that the DS was a good fit for Chrono Trigger, considering all the touch screen is used for is...menu mangement. Woohoo!

Just because he has the ROM doesn't mean that he doesn't have the actual cartridge. And some games can't be played legally in English (for ex: EarthBound Zero).

roms are completely legal as long as you own the system and the game itself, i wouldnt doubt tim having a copy of earthbound and a snes around somewhere like i do :P
