  • The number of petals in each row is the sum of the preceeding two rows, the fibonacci sequence. It's found in the structures of crystals and the spirals of galaxies. What's more, the ratio between each sequence to the one before it, is approximately 1.61803. This number shows up in the pyramids of Gesia, and at the Parthenon at Athens. The dimensions of a notecard, is based on a number you can find in a flower. Math is nature's method of communicating directly with us. Everything is numbers.

  • @hiloviking I think you're misunderstanding the last post by johnknoefler. God spoke matter into being out of absolutely nothing. NOTHING. He created life simply by thinking and then speaking. Anything we create, we are using the building blocks already in existence. You speak of DNA made from scratch. It's not from scratch. The concept of DNA and bacteria already existed. The necessary matter already existed. And whoever developed it did not just speak and it suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

  • an unfertilized egg does not hatch into a male. It is a DRONE. Not male. It only carries half a set of chromosones. One Queen will mate up to 15 times or so before she flies back to the hive. There she can live as long as 3 years and will lay hundreds of eggs a day. For some reason I don't know they usually lay unfertilized eggs in larger cells but they can lay drone eggs in the smaller cells. So his bee theory is all wrong.

  • Hiloviking, have you considered that God wields an entirely perfect knowledge of math and the creation and manipulation of life? Maybe man learning to create life makes him closer or more like God. Perhaps man should view with reverence He who has known these methods and more all along.

  • @GBRmond Well of course mathematics will play (and does play) a major part of our understanding of the universe and our purpose of being but it's a culmination of everything we know, and not any one subject, that will tell us.

It's not about theology, believe me, I was a math major.

  • Just a correction, the flower of the daisy is not really flower but a florescence. You can clearly see that each of the "petals" of the daisy is really a 3 petal flower. You can confirm that there are flowers with petals that are multiples of 2, 3 or 5, and if they have more "petals" its because these flowers are really a set of flowers. Check Merosity in wikipedia
