  • There is two version of this antenna, 1080i and 1080a

or HDTVi or HDTVA. One amplified the other not.

  • WRONG. It's not Amplified -.-' Idiots...

  • @Chiva2699 it is, I own one

  • I setup this antenna in my parent house, and picked up more then 40+ local channels. but When I tried in my apartment in Costa Mesa,CA,only picked up 3 channels

  • If a person has any type of metal siding on the house and/or roof, an indoor antenna can make it difficult or impossible to get a signal. My mobile home has a steel roof & the siding is aluminum, and barely got an analog signal with rabbit ears. I get no digital signal with rabbit ears. So I have no choice, but to use an outdoor antenna to get TV reception.

  • If you're not far from the transmitter and get the digital signal, you will be amazed at the clarity of the picture. Totally blows away analogue signal!

I like the fact he points out the factors affecting reception such as distance from transmitter, terrain, behind a wall, window, etc. So, no matter how good an antenna is, if it's not well positioned, you'll still get crappy reception.

  • Do I hook this up to a FTA unit and would I get good signal if I put this in the basement

  • You'll have to experiment.

Keep in mind that even length and quality of coax cable will also affect the quality of the signal. Other electrical interferences, even a truck driving by, can also affect your reception.

Overall, though, if this antenna captures a good strong digital on-air signal, he's not kidding and I've seen it, the quality is just amazing. I've seen this antenna receive 1080i signals clearer than cable.

  • Thanks for the video. I was researching this on Newegg and the ratings for it are very good. I think many people, due the economy, are really thinking about dumping cable server like Comcast, who continually keep raising their rates and yet, remove channels from their selection. I should also note that YOUR price is actually MUCH BETTER than Newegg's.

    Your price: $33.99, Newegg's: $39.99
