This jogged my memory. I recall in the 1950s when a next door neighbor lady would come over for afternoon "tea" and Mother would serve from her famous (or infamous) china teapot. I believe the beverage of choice in said teapot was Manhattans. This was a ruse on the ladies' part for the neighbor lady's husband, a teetotaling, sanctimonious, pontificating old foot doctor! She could always say she was just having "tea" next door. :-)

Songs would be about making it through high school and finding love or like a bunch of guys hanging out and having a good time basically songs that are catchy, relatable and happy. Now we get all this Kanye crap about meeting "hoes" at the bar and having one-night-stands and all that crap, and they're not even catchy. They all sound the same, I hate the music in our time.
