ok, i like in kentucky and i dont know what the fuck is wrong with these people.... i have a normal life like everyone else and so does everyone that i live around... this is such a shitty place.... i feel bad for saying this but they make fun of kentucky people cuz these idiots!!
.someday they all might be spaceships jepp, even the germans (me) have been there, but im still looking for the drawer in the store labeled "ONT", which I have seen I guess it was in 2003. This Place is unique and special and I love it. My t-shirt looks pretty worn by now. See ya soon Rabbit Hash.
Actually, the historical reference of redneck is a badge of honor of sorts. It's generally considered to reference the West Virginia Coal Miners March or the Battle of Blair Mountain when coal miners wore red bandannas around their necks to identify themselves as seeking the opportunity to unionize.
Using a word like that is inherently degrading, especially with the connotations that rednecks are stupid and racist. The majority of eastern Kentuckians are industrious, intelligent, and not racist.
Well, personally, when I think of rednecks, I don't think of stupid racist people. It's people like you that have that stereotype in your head that gives us rednecks a bad name. When I think of rednecks, I think of a way of life .. the way I live my life, and the things I like to do. Don't be so butt hurt just because you're a stereotyping stupid racist!!
You're fundamentally misrepresenting a way of life when you use a word to describe it that was coined by people who looked down on that way of life. Whether or not you like the connotations that come with the word 'redneck' they're there, and they're also untrue. When I say 'redneck' I'm not making a commentary on your way of life, but the stigma that surrounds the word 'redneck' that leads people to believe rural people are stupid and racist, when they actually aren't. Does that make sense?
Well, by believing there are connotations that surround the word means that you believe that they exist. I personally don't believe in those connotations so I don't view the word the way you view it. I have the right to call myself a redneck .. that is the American way of life. Remember free speach~ It's just how you want to define my use of the word. As you can see, I'm not an uneducated person ... so you shouldn't think I am if I want to call myself a redneck. Does that make sense?

Just because a person speaks and looks differently from you doesn't give you a right to criticize them. Don't be so ignorant.
