@ModerNxStEaLtH it all depends on luck. the new ixtreme has MUCH less of a chance of getting caught due to complicated algorithm and degrees crap. I flashed my hitachi 47 with the new ixtreme, played online for like 7 hours 2day with my new mass effect 2 and halo 3 odst multiplayer disk.

i have an old hitachi (79) drive that i dont use (i'll be using this one to flash) and i was wondering if i could simply plug it in to my new box(after the flas) (i dont know the maker of this drive) without having to put the new one in jeopardy just in case i screw it up beyond all repair.

@rapper379 Do you have your video cord plugged in? The xbox will shut down after something like 15 mins if it isn't plugged in, and like 5 mins if its an hdmi cord not plugged into a tv.

sorry if this is a stupid question, but the data cable. Can you explain more on where that gets plugged into, on your computer? Would that be the smallest cable that is plugged into my cd drive?

to unmanable, the way i fixed my problem was make sure you have the video cable plugged to a tv and a controller on because it shuts off because it goes so long with out being used so it shuts down to prevent over heat!

ohh and the only way you get banned from live is if you play burnt games that dont have a stealth patch in the game,you can test the file with abgx before you burn it to see if it has a stealth patch!!

for anybody planing on going by this video make sure you are using a 32-bit operating system because slax 2 only operates with 32-bit, NOT 64-bit!!!!!but other than that this looks like the best tutorial i have found so far

I think if you have the connectivity kit, you shouldn't power it with the molex from your computer's power supply. If the dvd-rom drive losses power , it will not remain in mode b. Get a molex to an outlet plug from your local electronics store, should be ok.

Open your case and see the label on your drive to see which version. And the Sata to USB only works on older hitachis.

can you help plz, the drive version is it under "ROM Ver" if so mine is 79 i think but then i have 4 files that are 79 and have diff letter at the end. e.g. 79-4b00, 79-4c30, 79-4d20, 79-4e10. same for the orig files. which do i choose?
