  • Does he have a disability?

  • not good mechanics at all

  • This is pediful ur using momentom and calling it speed. If that is a pitching coach to the left he probably didn't he play for highschool

  • On the bright side you found your tennis grunt down.

  • hes just making it sound fast

  • You have almost no separation, I'm no expert, but it's more like you're running at the plate rather than pitching the ball. If someone hits the ball back at you, you're screwed.

  • really horrific mechanics but 86 is some good heat.

  • ha nice mechanics

  • hey i can give you a contract to the las vegas rivercats

  • my 67 year old man throws harder than you kevin

  • that might just be the worst pitching mechanics I have ever seen

  • i dont think he is trying hard enough.

  • dumb

  • dude ur gonna throw out ur arm in like 5 mins

  • ooooooooooow it really hurts i just through out mione like a week ago

  • haha same thing I was thinking

  • get some pitching lessons u retard... front sides opening, your not staying tall, doesnt matter how fast your wind up is, it will only screw up your pitches

  • your gonna trow your arm out after like 20 pitches

  • ok first off, you dont need to curl hop to pitch. youre mechanics suck, you grunt like an asain pornstar, your little friend couldnt hit a 10mph wiffleball, you most likely have NO accuracy and what if theres a runner on base? pft, here comes the 30 mph pitch! youre throwing like and outfielder homo. maybe you should try waterpolo instead.

  • this guys a good pitcher

    not!!

  • i could out pitch this dork in my sleep. mind so could my grandmother. and shes dead.

  • wow you have no control

    work on your MECHANICS!!!!!!!!

  • nice pitching bro your a fucking scrub

  • its not a race bro. mechanics, mechanics, mechanics

  • ino seriously

  • the train is a late.....again

  • nice grunt u should play tennis

  • bad windup. but my thirteen year old friend plays for an AAU team and he pitches 85 mph.

  • Bullshit!!!!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • The older guy at the end of the video SCREAMS "OLDER GUY DOUCHE BAG". This kid couldn't make a decent high school team with that horrid delivery. Yet daddy talks him up to think he is the greatest thing since sliced bread

  • bad mechanics

  • damn..im not an expert..but..dont step back so far (bad balance), try staying controlled, point your toe straight at the target (to maximize hip rotation), people confuse this 'momentum' stuff with tim lincecum, all pitchers use momentum, lincecum just uses his left leg to maximize push off with his right, i fixed my mechanics and gained 4 mph in a week by doing so just by figuring out that an explosive long stride is pretty well what determines velocity, unless you're super strong.

  • try getting a pitching coach. there is no leg lick or balance. he is probably really wild

  • 86 was his arm speed oldest trick in the book. He was really only at about 83 ball speed.

  • 86 not bad, but you still can develop so much speed because ur mechanics are a little off.Try staying down and push off the backleg more.

  • I stopped throwing with a conventional windup and am using momentum pitching, and i'm using less effort, even though it doesnt look that way, and i'm throwing harder than i ever, so unless you've pitched both ways and have found one to be better than the other, shut your mouths. You wanna see pitchers who throw like this, Tim Lincecum, Whitey Ford, Nolan Ryan, Sandy Koufax. All pretty good pitchers wouldnt you say? Keep up the work man, best wishes to ya

  • Have you haters ever taken the time to think why so many pitchers get hurt today and why pitchers in the 50's and 60's could throw 200 pitch games with no problem? Or that they threw every 4 days instead of 5?

  • LOL,...No lower half! It would be nice for a couple of innings maybe,...

  • i thorw exactly the same speed as you4 years ago haha now im 20 so give or take a few

  • fuckin idiot.....

using just your arm. YOU STUPID CUNT your mechanics suck cock. look at how you land. it's scary.

    freeze it at 1:00

holy shit. stupid asshole pitching coach

AND WTF IS WITH THAT QUICK STEP AT 1:15? THATS NOT A WINDUP THATS A WEIRD ASS WALK! and why are you lunging forward like that. god damn fix your delivery and kill your pitching coach before you fuck up for good.

  • You kiss your mother with that mouth? Why would anyone take what a foul mouthed idiot has to say seriously? Just because you have a keyboard doesn't make you an expert on anything. If I WERE YOU I would go back to school and learn how to constuct a sentence or maybe a few new words. Say something intelligent or shut the hell up !

  • that is intelligent u pussbag. this kid sucks. bad. the kids i play with on JV could clobber this kid. if not that then get walks because of his horrid control.

  • tommy john's gunna feel good too. who the hell is ur pitching coach. is he high?

  • you need to be more balanced in your delivery. et you les stronger and run and you will be able to add velocity without looking like an idiot

  • ya if your maxing out every pitch with those mechanics and only getting 86 you need to get a new pitching coach

  • YADAH34, youre right.

  • Arm problems yet? If not, expect it. And Cubfan, lengthen the stride? That is not for everyone, it fits very few pitchers mechanics actually.

  • The point of pitching is to maximize your effort. Lengthen the stride, maybe slim down a little (see the SI article on how Tim Lincecum pitches), become solely a reliever. Focus on a 4-seamer, 2-seamer and splitter, with a straight change and cutter as secondary pitches. As a catcher, I'd hate to catch this guy, cuz I hate seeing my pitchers hurt. This is an injury waiting to happen. For your sake, take this advice.

  • I would probably laugh batting against him.

  • you have many flaws in your delivery, however, u r quite the horse. I guess football didn't work for u.. You have a better chance becoming an acctual freight train that becoming a good pitcher.. NUF SAID SNUCKA!!

  • you assholes on here leave the most ignorant, stupid, and most immature comments..get a flippin life, we all know all you people saying: OMG!! hes so slow!! 86!! your doing this wrong, you suck, you mechanics suck! we all know your all 12 year old faggots who think ur amazing because u throw 60 on a 35 ft rubber and u think u can thorw a "curveball" or more like a "meatball"

  • haha sorry daddy i hope i didnt offend you with my comments...atleast there is people who will be honest with the guy. what do you expect when you post a video on youtube, people to lie to you?

  • look, its not about being honest.

its about these people saying how this guy sucks, and people think just because he may not have greg maddux mechanics he sucks.

and the people that complain do NOT have videos of them pitching, so unless u have a video of ur self throwing 95 with perfect mechanics and a 12-6 curve. dont complain.

  • who the hell is your pitchings coach...you need a new one. your not pitching your throwing, there is a big difference between the two. max effort is a turnoff to scouts, especially if your only hitting 86. id really like to see a decent offspeed pitch with those mechanics. im sure you hang just about every slider/curveball. you never thought it was weird that baseball has been around so long and you have never seen a professional baseball player throwing the way you are???

  • Look at some pitchers in the 50's..they stepped more straight back and they used momentum way more than the avg pitcher does today. The main difference is the balance point and you don't even know why you need it . It is a proven scientific fact that it is easier to balance the faster you move. (ride a bike slow,,then fast, which is easier?) All you haters on here that have done ZERO research need to shut up and go read a book. At one time the smartest minds in the world thought it was flat !!

  • your seriously gonna comment back to me with this? first you talk about how this guy throws like guys from the 50's then you end with the greatest minds in the past thought the earth was flat. Put your own thoughts together and you should come to the conclusion that through the years the pitching coaches came up with a better way to pitch. You really think your that much of a baseball genius? Name one MLB pitcher that throws that way, because they are the best at what they do.

  • First of all there were no pitching coaches in the 50's.... also I did not say that he pitched like a guy from the 50's I said that they used more momentum back then. He is doing that PLUS elimanating the balance point.

  • You act like people who do nothing but play and study baseball would not have thought of this before you. Maybe youre the one that needs to go read some books on baseball, if you really dont think having a solid balance point is not a key to pitcher. One more thing you might not be educated on which isnt a big deal but im gonna go ahead and add it in because you responded to me, you are using a jugs gun which are atleast two MPH harder than stalkers which are used by professional scouts.

  • First of all I did not invent this style of pitching. This is not my house or my gun . Baseball is very superstitious game and always has been. Coaches teach what they are taught. Why are you so afraid of change? Does an outfielder have a balance point that he reaches when throwing someone out at the plate? You show me some evidence that proves you need a balance point and why. Many pitchers are way more effective out of the slide step (NO BALANCE POINT ! ) Free your mind man.

  • First youre right you dont need a balance point to throw a baseball. You do need a balance point to PITCH. Big difference between the two, thats why in my first comment i posted on here i said i would like to see him throw a descent slider/curveball. Pitching mechanics are not designed to just maximize velocity but also designed to prevent injuries. You should do some research into the NEW scientific equipment they have that they place on a pitchers entire body to find which parts are....

  • mechanics that maximize velocity tend to be mechanics that prevent injury

  • experiencing the most trauma. The mechanics of today are CHANGE, they look a lot different from what they looked like in the 50's. This guy is not CHANGE this is the exact opposite. He looks more like the pitchers from the past than the pitchers today do.

  • Which is a CHANGE from what you see today. This video is of the first bullpen trying this style of pitching. He did not have perfect mechanics when he switched. Adding momentum will take pressure off of the arm. Why would a slider or change or curve ball be any different ... if anything they would all look like the fastball...which is what they are supposed to look like. Please explain to me why you need a balance point? Tell me why you step back at an angle? Tell why you step at all .....

  • stepping back is nothing more than a rhythm move. pitching is all about timing, the balance point is where you gather yourself and begin to seperate. if you rush through your balance point your arm must catch up to the rest of your body (puting more strain on your arm). The key to throwing a good slider/curveball is having a good release point out front. with these mechanics his arm most likely his shoulder is taking on excess strain. seriously doubt he has a good offspeed pitch.

  • Stepping back was invented to gain momentum to the plate. You do not need the balance point to throw out of a slide step do you? As far as the arm lagging behind..you carry (and break)the hands lower ,problem solved. Most kids are the opposite though. They get their arm up too soon and then it sits there and waits on the rest of the body. Then you end up throwing the ball with nothing but arm. In Momentum pitching the arm is not the source it is along for the ride like a whip. see Tim Lincecum

  • Hahaha

These are some of the funniest/disencouraging comments I've seen in Youtube. I don't know about this guy's stuff, but I'd be distracted by the delivery if I were a hitter facing him

  • this kid is going to do nothing tear his shoulder up. no balance point, poor separation, and notice how he couldn't hit a barn door at 60 ft. come to a balance and throw to a spot, not mention, he has poor fielding position after release, he will get drilled in his teeth for sure. fire your coach, or tell your dad to stay in the stands where he belongs

  • Throwing off flat ground like this DOES mess with control.. but you are 100% correct.

  • WOW u throw throw slow as shit.

  • that delivery is so rushed, if u found the balance point and actually got the full motion delivery u would have more control, and more velocity, just tryin to help

  • that guy is that big n can only throw 86... wow

  • i completely agree with u beavsfan2424

  • THIS IS COMPLETE BULLSHIT! this kid is horrible. he throws it so slow, and he doesnt have an explosive delivery, its just fucking rushed. wow this kid thinks he has talent, he sucks. hes horrible. his pitching coach is a fag too. wow. pathetic

  • wow. you have easily the worst mechanics ever. fire your pitching coach and learn to reach a balance point.

  • acording to my calculations you stink worse than my grammas feet thats not 80 mph thats 12 mph get a life

  • nice throing 21 mph. i throw 87 mph. on radar im senior in hs

  • hey nice job everyones needs to stop being dushbags lol nice pitching bro

  • go play whiffleball

  • I would like to bring up 2 things for the kid in this video...

First, all the good hitters you face will rip your fastball all day long no matter what your wind up is. I have seen this windup before.. Your other pitches will dictate your success. And you will find it is not as easy to throw a changeup and curve/slider in this motion. 2nd the short explanation is the shoulder can only take so much stress. do some research before u miss your senior year with a labrum issue.

  • instead of steping bac try going to the side. u have a explosive delivery and u use your whole body and not just your arm. thats good. also u have your elbow a little high and that makes you head move to the side. if u drop you will have more balance and have more control.

  • the pitching from the set is not as bad as the wind up . on the windup he does like a friecken split going backwards and the foward he dosent even like pick up his leg. worst mechanics ever.

  • and who's the fucking moron telling him that he's doing better?

  • HORRIBLE MECHANICS! This is the worst shit I've ever seen, it is obvious that this kid has never played organized baseball. I really hope he doesn't think he's good, because he's a fucking joke, bottom line. Also, stop fucking grunting like a faggot every time you release the ball.

  • the key to pitching is throwing not dancing

  • find a new coach. This is terrible...

  • wow.. if i were the hitter i would be completely distracted by that retarded wind-up

  • What does take to achieve high pitching velocity?

  • hahaha please tell me this is a joke. this dude is a fukin retard

  • find a new pitching coach. that crap is embarrassing.

  • intimadating big time

  • you have a nice fastball

  • horrible technique. this kids huge and hes only throwing the ball 86, im half his size and ive topped out at 89. pluss, with all the momentum i would like to see him throw a decent breaking ball without slowing down his delivery drastically. with just simple mechanichs this kids strong enough that he should be able to drive off his back leg and throw high 80's to low 90's

  • wow! You're in Dick Mill's backyard!

  • I wish some of the nay sayers had to stand in on the freight train....keep working at it.

    Good Luck

  • i would.......

  • very nice, with your size as a momentum pitcher you are going to be SCARY to any hitter. You are definitely a freight train.

    good job,

    em

  • ahh, the way Clemens pitches. Heel over rubber. Your lucky. I bet he worked on timing and back step to create balance, fluidity, and an easy way to control a "repetative motion".

  • Kevin, please tell me that is Dick's backyard sanctuary. Good for you, working out with the man himself. Care to PM me with a back story to your day. Scott Waz
