Freaking 30 year memory, before TiVo. I thought they were saying "Smog!" at the end. I had to google this today after thinking about it.  I always wondered why someone would win the ultimate knowledge prize, 'Smog'. "Smarts" makes sense at least.

I'm not sure if memory serves, but I thought that was Ted Knight that did the narration for the Superfriends cartoons.

I was also 12 when I got my Quiz Wiz in 1978. The ANSWER button wasn't connected very well, so I had to press it a few times to find out whether I answered correctly.

@heine71 I hate to burst your bubble but Ted Knight (star of Caddyshack and the tv show Too Close For Comfort) was the narrator on the Superfriends.
