Sadly, Rob Grill, lead singer of the Grass Roots, passed away in July 2011 after sustaining a head injury as a result of a stroke. He never regained consciousness. R.I.P. in Rock 'N Roll Heaven, Rob! Or better yet, sing and dance for the angels!
Man, I was really saddened to hear of the passing of Rob Grill on 7/11/11. Never did get a chance to hear him perform live, wish I had. : ( R.I..P., Brother!!!
These guys had so many hits. They were a great band and singers. Thanks so much for all the postings and uploading, so that us old teenagers can go back again. Great times, good friends, great music.(And cars that were fun to drive while we listened to them)
Thank god this video is still working. I cant watch most of the GR videos anymore as content of UMG is prohibited in my country now ... can u imagine ... it's shit. So I'm glad I found this one.
Thanks for these postings! The Grass Roots were one of the great pop bands of the 60's... my sister had their greatest hits album! In the movie "With Six You Get Eggroll" with Doris Day and Brian Keith, the Grass Roots perform a number in a nightclub called "You Make Me Want You". But the only version I find online is the clip from the movie, which includes dialogue, cutaways to other action within the scene, etc. Anybody know if/where there's a full version of this song online?
@stan33man- hi - actually the name of the song is "Feelings". There are a couple postings of that song on youtube. I have 68 postings of Grass Roots songs. But I haven't uploaded "Feelings". I will upload more Grass Roots songs! Ron
@rwells47 - Thanks for the heads-up Ron. Guess TCM got it wrong on the name of the song, but that's the one: "Feelings" - sounds good even reproduced from 8-track! They just don't make music like this any more...
I really miss musci like this.I was around back then but the music sounds so much better then than now with all the new technology. They def cant write songs like this anymore
