If you want great game emulation, get an M3 or an R4. The R4 can emulate every game & system the max media player can, but it can also actually run a Neo Geo Perfectly!!! But If you want great media playback, get a Max Media Dock. The Max Media Dock's media playback is just as good as this, if not better. However, it poorly emulates Snes games, plays Genesis games in ok quality, but they're mute & a little slow. The only system it got right is the NES. Plays all NES games without error.
ok the m3 ds real is one of the best carts to go with. The ez flash V and the iTouch DS is also a good cheap alternative. I do not suggest the r4 because it is out of date and not in production anymore.

is there any way to access mp3 files from the SD card slot? as far as I can see, it only shows files from the micro SD card.

I MUCH prefer this as it's simpler to use, and you have all the functions (media and games) available in one system thing. :P thnx for watching
