As much as I love Jill Scott, I cant agree with this message. There is no such thing as "being taught how to be a man". There is such a thing as being taught to be a man according to societies standards, but fuck society. A man is already a man when he is born with a penis. There have been plenty of successful men that have grown up without fathers. Theres all kinds of families and the idea that a family without a father is a broken family is an idea that causes pain. A family is a family.

Yes, many successful men have grown up without fathers, but they also suffered through the pain of not having their fathers in their lives, of not having his guidance, direction and love. I agree with you. My childrens father is in their life and it makes such a difference, but also, it makes a huge difference that we are married. It is important because our children get to see not just how mommy and daddy work, but how we work together. I think one of the most under recognized function, is mom and dad as a team. Yes fathers are important, I absolutely agree, but the next level to mom and dad is F.A.M.I.L.Y. If a child cant see us fit together, we are still just peices

Fathers should fight to see their children even if they feel they they cant help financially their prescence in their childs life is unmeasurable. However, none of the compares to the joys of sharing my heart with the man I love. Women's lib helped in the since that should he fall short, I've got it FAIRLY. i Love this song because it expresses the true heart of EVERY woman whether she wants to acknowledge it or not. I need my man and there is NO shame in that, and he needs me too. We complete each other and make each other better than we could ever be alone. WAK (Kevin A. Williams) is an awesome artist. That's who drew the pictures in this montage. He has many more.
