I have loved this song since a kid yet only recently do I realize the meaning of the lyrics. I had thought it was a happy song owing to its light-hearted tune. The use of technology to enable a duet in this clip is very creative and meaningful too. The song is still very popular today and I was thrilled to see it performed during a recent cruise trip.
This was the first ever Japanese song that I came to know. It was way back in 1963, if I am not mistaken. Too bad, Mr. Sakamoto is no longer with us. May his soul be blessed!
<33333333333333333 I love Kiyoshi Hikawa so much~! and Kyu Sakamoto is a legend ;____; perfect.

I'm in tears here; that was beautiful.. Such a sweet respectful honor paid to Kyu-Chan... Nice work! Thank you for sharing that...
