Took me way back. Listened to AFVN radio from 67 to 69. Made life in Vietnam a little better. Listened to it running up and down the rivers in the Mekong Delta on PBR's. What a trip.
i have a recording of a news broadcast where something bombs the station, it may be on wikipedia, also tons of defective turntables that wobble, sounds of silence playing during a news broadcast, joey bishop & Pat Sajak and some cd's i got off ebay that i misplaced...
Brings back a load of memories. Still have my real to real...don't work that well but still have it. Was at TSN and Remember waking up to the dawn buster . Also since my barracks was across from the helopad woke up and went to sleep with huey's and Chinooks going back and forth.
I'm so glad I found this . Wonderful music is all we had at times. I remember so much of this, once had reel to reel tapes of AFVN. Navy River Rat 68-69
@gratetennfan Same here Brother Rat. Was with Riv Sec 525 and Riv Div 574 from 68 to 69 also. Hope life is going good for you. Welcome home brother Rat.

I don't think that AFVN would EVER have permitted those songs to be played. With the first two, thanks for pissing on the graves of a few friends.
