L4D2 On a sub-$1300 laptop

Wow, I have the exact same laptop and it can't play a simple youtube video... And when I'm on the desktop doing nothing the CPU usage is always over 70%... Somebody please help me...

@TickleMeSillyXx Strange, try updating the graphics drivers and Flash.

My laptop can play 1080p Youtube video's and 1080p MKV's just fine :)

ATI 5850 HD @2,4GHz

4GB GDDR5

SATA II 7200 rpm

It plays every game without lag and high/max settings

I picked it up from shop for $1400

@joytech23 and also my grapichs card is from novida so one time i played on laptop i could not switch to campaing to versus nothing just campaing the onlyway toplay single player is you you open develeper console and write map then map name i allways do that cause i could not swithc to vs mutation nothing it just stayed on campaing my favorite map is map_c1m5_atrium to type this in open develeper console and type any map name just how i wrote it

@colorvideo5 There's no DDR5 RAM laptops out yet, DDR3 is the fastest ram you can get hold of now days, clocking at anywhere from 1000-2000+ MHZ

@ivansegos Yeah his card has GDDR5 but he said he had 4GB of GDDR5, which is impossible for any 5850 unless it's a workstation equivalent.

it's actually quite decent. I can play Crysis and Crysis Warhead easily with 25+ FPS

it's a powerful laptop card compared to some of the nVidia ones :) My laptop cost $1700 AUD :(

bought it from out computer guy.

thing that sucks bout this laptop is that it is sooooo easy to scratch :(

i've had this comp for 7 months now and it's already loaded with scratches lol

i'm very good with keeping things unscratched usually

@DJCRISIS111 Lol, iv'e had my laptop since september last year, still in perfect condition, no scratches but lots of fingerprints..

Yeah the GPU is powerful for Crysis but for me the performance killer is Shaders, i just keep them on Medium, everything else can be set to high or v/high or a mix.

@diegohermosilla Hey do you have the same model laptop as me in this vid?

If you do, hop over to amd and download the new drivers on the left of the page for the GPU, these drivers provide performance improvements over the older 9.9 vs the 10.4 drivers currently available.

Also try closing as many programs as possible and lowering some in-game details such as Anti-Aliasing, anti-aliasing impacts game performance a lot.
